Rated 5 out of 5 by from Did the trick. A few months back, I purchased a Taylor Made R15 TP 3 wood. My bag is filled with TP ironset and hybrids. I prefer these clubs because I want limited offset and I don't need help squaring the club at impact. I didn't care for the stock shaft that came in the 3 wood. It had a vague feel (had difficulty feeling exactly ehere my misses occurred on the club face) and it was definitely designed to lower the ball flight. This normally isn't an issue for me as I tend to flight the ball medium to high with all my clubs. The club head is also designed with a more forward center of gravity to keep ball flight down. This combination didn't work well for me from the fairway and rough. I purchased the Aldila NVS shaft and it gave me all the qualities I needed and noe I feel as confident from the ground as I had from the tee and I also like the height and carry more from the tee. Aldila shafts really suit my game. I now have one version in my driver, 3 wood, 3 hybrid and 4 hybrid.

I have 10.5 RBZ Stage 2 bonded driver with a Rocketfuel 50 grams R-flex shaft and have a high ball flight would like to have a lower ball flight. Do you have any recomendations for a different shaft?

Asked by: Mike
In Aldila shafts for a lower ball flight I would look at the NV 55 (AL202201) or NV 65 (1205W). Also the Xcaliber Tour SL (AS0026) is a very good light weight shaft that could bring your ball flight down. The Kuro Kage Black HBP 2nd Gen (MR0044) is another good choice. The RBZ Stage 2 driver uses a .350" tip diameter shaft so you will need to shim these .335" tip diameter shafts to properly fit this driver. The SHIM15 works well for this.

My name is Mike live in UK. Always had a Aldila shafts for my Driver and fairway woods( voodoo tour black and Trinity) my question is I always had 65R 335 tip shafts now I am going to try 75R 350 tip NVS is going to improve my game .

Asked by: Mike 252
The .350" tip size NVS will play stiffer in the tip then the .335" NVS tip size. The heavier shaft weight could either help or hurt. Generally most players will swing the heavier shaft slower and likely not hit it quite as far. If the heavier weight shaft fits your swing then it could give you more control and similar distance as you have had with the 65 gram weight shafts.

Trim code for the AL202201 is W18, which calls for 1" tip trim for a #3 wood, then trim to final playing length from the butt end.

I kind of like the Fujikura Motore Speeder stiff shaft that comes stock in Callaway drivers. Is the NVS 55 comparable at all?

Asked by: Chipper
I do not have any specific specifications from the Fujikura Motore Speeder S flex to be able to make a good comparison to the NVS 55. If the weight of the Fujikura is in the 50 gram weight range then the shafts will probably play pretty similar. Stock shafts generally play a little more flexible then normal and the NVS 55 does play a little more flexible then normal. The Fujikura EXS 5.0 (FK0071) could also be a good match to the stock shaft, again depending on the weight of the stock shaft.

what are the kick points on these shafts

Asked by: roger
The shaft has a mid kick to help to provide the player with a mid-high flight. This can be relative to each player as most of the trajectory is based on the loft of the driver and attack angle of the swing.

I am looking to re-shaft a big bertha 2004 fairway wood. I think it has a .350 tip. Does this sound correct? is the NVS wood shaft for fairway woods?

Asked by: joker
Yes the 2004 Big Bertha Fairway woods are a .350" hosel bore. The NVS can make a good fairway wood shaft. You will need to use the BB9002 Callaway Adapter for reshafting this head with a .335" tip diameter shaft.
