Aldila RIP 90 Iron Graphite Iron Shaft

The RIP Iron has been used to win multiple times on Tour in 2013. What sets the RIP Iron apart is that it is lower in torque and is straighter along its length than any steel shaft. Its not as good as steel, its better. The new Aldila RIP iron incorporates Aldila’s Tour proven RIP Technology® with unique composite construction to create a new and innovative shaft flex profile for maximum distance and control – Hyperbolic Flex Technology™. RIP Technology repositions the materials and patterns to optimize the performance characteristics of the shaft. Hyperbolic Flex Technology provides a stiff tip section for optimal launch and spin control, with a very firm butt section for an incredibly stable feel, while the center section of the shaft is softer to provide outstanding kick through impact to maximize ball speed. Available in both 90 and 115 gram designs.

Aldila RIP Tour Iron Shaft Specifications

Aldila RIP 90 Iron Graphite Iron Shaft is rated 4.666666666666667 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Low launching graphite This shaft launches lower than any other graphite. I'm a high hitter, and this really keeps my flight down. Steelfiber and Recoils go too high for me. If you are playing Project X and want to go graphite, this is the one. Plus, the torque is lower than steel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent shaft This shaft provides excellent feel. I have it in all my wedges. It has provided about 5 more yards if distance, with higher ball flight then the factory installed steel shafts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great feel Just installed shafts in my 714 AP1 irons. Have play 3 round before weather halted play. So far I'm pleased.

I have volkey PW and hate the factory steel shafts and want to get a quality graphite staff with some flex to it. I have Ping regular shafts and like them. Do you have some suggestions for wedge shafts? Thanks

Asked by: Shoot 69
The AL0046 Aldia RIP iron shafts are being discontinued. The 36" raw length shaft was the wedge shaft and we only have it left in an X flex. You will need a .355" taper tip shaft for the Vokey wedges. Possibly the Aerotech Steelfiber 95 (AT0015IW) could be a good choice. The UST Recoil 95 (US0085) would be another choice. The Xcaliber (AS0028) is a very good inexpensive taper tip graphite shaft. Of these three I would say the Xcaliber has the most flexible feel.

Hi play off 4 looking for a set 3 to pw graphite for callaway x tour  irons what can you recommend  john

Asked by: john
The Aldila RIP Graphite Irons shafts are being discontinued and we no longer have full sets of these available. I would suggest shafts like the Steel Fiber 95 (AT0015I) or the UST Recoil 95 (US0085) if you are looking for a shaft in the 95 gram weight range. Both of these are very good shafts and could match well with the X Tour Irons. We also have some new irons shafts from Paderson that could work well. The Kinetixx IMRT Kevlar 950 Irons (PK0004).

Hi this shaft has come up in the. 370 tip section but is displayed as. 355. I'm looking for 9x 4-pw, sw, aw high quality 370 tip in with mid to lower trajectory. I'm was thinking this shaft or Ust recoil 670, 800 very unsure can you help with any advice.

Asked by: Stephen
The RIP Tour iron shafts are only available in a .355" taper tip. Aldila has introduced a new a new Rogue Pro (AL0054) Iron shaft that is available in a .370" tip diameter. It however is a mid/high trajectory shaft. The UST Recoil 670 and 680 iron shafts are both listed as a mid/high trajectory shaft. If you are looking in the mid 70 gram weight range you might look at the Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen Iron shaft (MR0046) which is a mid trajectory. It is a good shaft at a very good price.
