Rated 5 out of 5 by from best grip ever I have nine sets of clubs most with Brown chamois grips. I just got another set with black grips, and got some hybrids with NO CHAMOIS grips. when I say they are the best, I mean it. I've had them on ALL my clubs Forever. The feel is like no other...Instant confidence in my club and my grip and more importantly my shot, never slips and true, I love 'em.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does Many Things Well I have large hands and used Lamkin Crossline Oversize for years. I'm also tall and my irons are +1/2. After getting a stinger on a tree root, I decided to go back to the Avon jumbos I had used several iron sets ago. Not only are they shock resistant, they have great feel, control and all-weather playability. They are also far lighter than the Lamkin Crossline oversize, which means, with +1/2 clubs, I need less tip-weighting to maintain my D2 swing weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cushion! I tried a Jumbo size grip on my 5 iron, and I can tell you there are quite a bit of cushion you can feel. It's different type of cushion though... not as soft as typical Winn grip... not like spongy type of cushion, but a little more firm.. but definitely cushiony... It's somewhat hard to explain, but the bottom line is that I really like the soft feel, and also it feels like the grip does a very good job absorbing shocks and stings - it being a Jumbo size most likely made it even more shock absorbing, I believe. One downside of the Jumbo size is that the reminder rib is really hard to feel.. It's definitely there (when I measured the diameters), but you can't (at least "I" couldn't) feel it. What good is a reminder rib if you can't feel it? LOL Well, if you don't care for the reminder rib first place, then it won't be a big deal for you. Also, I believe this soft and extra shock absorption characteristic is from their "air cushion" technology. This "air cushion" is, it seems like, basically a series of horizontal channels/ribs inside. I have attached a picture. Many years ago I have used a version of Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips which had similar horizontal channels (I can't quite remember clearly, but I believe they were either under-size or light-weight model). A few hours after the grip change, I went out to a driving range to hit some ball, but I couldn't because the grips were not completely dry; it seemed like those channels were holding quite a bit of solvent, so it actually needed more than a few hours completely. I ripped those grips out and installed regular Golf Pride Tour Velvet grips, so I don't know how much time it would've needed for them to get dried up completely.... For my 5 iron, I had this Jumbo grip installed and let it sit for several days before I played that club. So, I am not sure if it also required a lot of extra drying time or not. Maybe not as much as those Golf Pride grips, but I won't be too surprised these grips also require a little bit of extra drying time due to those horizontal channels for the air cushion. Now I have Standard size installed on my 5 iron. I can definitely feel the reminder rib better with this size. I am going to play a round tomorrow morning (which is about 12 hours away), so I would be able to see if grip solvent is dried up by then. Anyway, back the product review... I like this product a lot. It's soft, but not too soft. I like the feel of the surface and the material, too. It's not too tacky but not slippery, yet not rough. A lot of color choices, too, even though I don't like any of these colors (they are too primary-ish to me; I guess I'm old) and it's not a good/cool looking grip, either. LOL The only thing I don't have any firm opinion about is its durability - the Jumbo size was just too big for me (I was just trying it out), so I only played 4 rounds and a few driving range sessions (and I don't get to hit 5 iron much).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Grip I like these grips and have used them for the past three years. I have carpal in my left wrist and nerve issues in my left arm. I got these in under size and they fit my hands very well. They are easy on the hands and allow me to control the club. Good looking, durable, and shock absorbing at a fair price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Perfect Grip I have used many of the top popular brands, and they are very good, but the moment I held these in the shop I immediately found these exraordinary. Very comfortable, excellent feel, just perfect. I really dont think I will change these for another, I have found My grip. Finally.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots going for it; not perfect though. The main problem with this grip, which I like, is that it is so soft that the soft material (it's greatest attribute) will create extra closing torque on draws and extra open twisting on cuts and slices. I think a firmer version of this grip could go through the roof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from quality & value I've installed two sets of these grips. Work equally well on woods, hybrids & irons. They provide a nice cushioned grip, with good feel while also absorbing some of the sting that bothers older golfers or those with hand/arm conditions. They wear well too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unexpected surprise I found these grips purely by accident. I had broken my pitching wedge and needed a replacement. The replacement I found had the Avon Chamois grip installed. WOW. The feel is incredible even on bad shots! I'm ordering 8 more to change the rest of my set!!

I want to test a jumbo grip. A friend give me one to try & I like it. It is black and ship from AVON the    item number was27158000. also this number is on the packing slip.GO-0027-158 OVSZ ARTH SEER BLK. Can I purchase item and what does it cost ?.

Asked by: Bud
We no longer have that grip and in looking at Avon's web site I do not see it shown there as well. It should be the same as the Tacki-Mac grip (FMAC) which you can see at this link. http://www.golfworks.com/tacki-mac-arthritic-golf-grips/p/FMAC/

Does Avon make a mid-size Chamois golf grip?  The standard is too small and the jumbo is too large for my hands.

Asked by: Spike513
Avon does not make a designated "Mid-Size" original Chamois grip. However, you can take the standard size and build it up with build up tape to a mid size. This is routinely done and the way many players will increase the size of their grip.

What core diameter do i purchase  for my taylormade KBS 90 shafts?

Asked by: jeptha
If you want a standard size grip with the Avon Chamois grips you would use the .580" core size. The Chamois grips with a .600" core size are an oversize grip, which is fine if that is the grip size that you need.

my wife has a set of Nancy Lopez hybrid irons. What size grips (.580 or .560) should I order?

Asked by: gunner
The .560" is the Ladies grip. So if you want a ladies size grip this is the one you would use. The .580" core size grips are men's size grips. If she needs larger size grips then standard ladies then you could use the .580" core size. A standard ladies grip size outside diameter measures .850" and a standard men's size grip measures .900".

I'm regrouping my wife's clubs but I'm finding some shafts .580 and some .610 What size grips do I use Thanks Bruce

Asked by: 63vette
A ladies .580" core size grip installed on a .580" butt diameter shaft will give you a standard ladies size grip which measure .850" measured at 2" down from the top edge of the grip cap. The .580" core size grip installed on the .610" butt diameter shaft will give you a ladies grip size of + 1/32" oversize or measure .880". Using ladies grips that are available in the aftermarket there is no way to get the .610" butt diameter shafts down to a standard ladies size grip. We have no ladies grips with a .610" core size or even a .600" core size. If you wanted all the grips the same size you can use build up tape on the .580" butt diameter shafts and build them up to .610" and then use the same grips on all the clubs. Other wise the .610" butt size shafts are going to have larger grip sizes.
