Arthur Xtreme Engineering Xcaliber Graphite Iron Shaft Specifications

AXE XCaliber Taper Tip Graphite Iron Shaft Set is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great graphite taper tip shafts Excellent set of taper tip shafts for forged irons. Perfect balance, good trajectory and they look great. A fantastic way of extending the life of many older forged iron sets. Highly recommended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shafts Bought them to replace my steelfiber shafts as I didn't like the boardy feel and left shoulder was suffering from the heavy weights. So far these shafts are really smooth and feel a lot more lively, could be due to the light weights allowing me to feel the club head more. Initially I was going to get the stiff flex since I was scared in the huge weight gap, but Arthur was very helpful in assuring me that the R flex was a good fit for me. For the price, it's really an underrated product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice feeling shaft I bought a set of these about 3 weeks ago to put in my Ping I-25 irons. They have a great feel and have a mid to mid high kick point. I replaced the Ping steel shafts with these. Still dialing them in a bit as I made them about 3/8 of an inch longer and had to bend the lie angle a little flatter to compensate for the increased length. No vibration with them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from delivers on distance I had a hard time swingweighting these, today I hit them at the range. they delivered as promised, high and far, great feel, not harsh. mid irons 7 yrds further, wedges 10 yard further and long irons 5 yard further than my xp90's but with more dispersion

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice paint job I don't think I'm going to put him in a set of Forge golf clubs maybe a perimeter wait, like a tailor-made but then they just go to far and there's just no telling which way it's going to be so maybe I could try am in a forge club

Hi, I'm currently playing graphite stiff....TM Reax graphite. 6 iron swing speed is 85mph, with a violent transition. 6 iron distance is about 175 yds. What flex do you think would be best in the AXE shafts? Thanks for any help, Warren

Asked by: Warrenrk
You would want the S flex in the Xcaliber shaft. The 85 gram weight can also help to give you a little more control with your violent transition.

Senior shaft available for the xcalibers?

Asked by: sacgeek
No Xcaliber does not manufacture a Senior flex taper tip irons shaft. The only taper tip graphite iron shafts that we have available are the Aerotech SteelFiber 70CW (AT0020IE) and the Paderson Kinetixx TS-I Trajectory Series Iron (PK0105). We can special order any of the UST Recoil .370" tip diameter shafts from UST in a .355" taper tip.

Do you think the AS2008 TaperTip Graphite Iron Shaft set will be replenished in January, since Robin Arthur is coming out with an all new line of shafts in March?

Asked by: gbarn4027
The next shipment of shafts which I was just told we will have possibly next week will be exactly the same as they have been. Any changes to the product line will be more towards spring before we would have them in stock. Our First Edition 2017 Catalog will have the existing Xcaliber product line.

Can I use these shafts to replace my steel shafts in a set of Ping Black Dot GMax irons? They now have Ping CFS SR Steel Distance shafts. Also, is there a guide for tip and butt length trims?

Asked by: gbarn
Yes the AS0028 shafts will fit the Ping GMax irons. With these taper tip shaft there is no tip trimming. You will install them and butt cut them to your finished length. Here is a link to our standard length reference. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/StdLengths.pdf Quite a few of these shafts are on backorder and are not due in until the middle of January 2017.

What shafts would complement for use in 2 and 3 iron since these start at 4?

Asked by: 4golfgod
To be honest there really is not a very good match especially for a 2 iron because there are only a few taper tip graphite 2 iron shafts available. The UST Recoil 95/110/125 come with a 2 iron shaft. Also the Paderson Kinetixx IMRT Kevlar 950 Iron comes with a 2 iron shaft. Those are the only ones we stock in a 2 iron shaft and their specifications do not match up to this Xcaliber shaft. If you are using an R flex a shaft like the UST Recoil 670 (US0072) or for the S flex the Recoil 680 (US0072) could match up better. These are a stock .370" tip diameter but could be special ordered from UST with a .355" taper tip and set up for the 2 and 3 irons. You would need to contact our Customer Service Department for this special order. You can contact them at golfworks@golfworks.com or by calling 1-800-848-8358.

I have a set of Mizuno MX 900 irons with steel Gold Dynamic shafts..as I've gotten older I would prefer a graphite shaft..will these shafts compliment this set of irons..I have the 3 thru PW...If the set comes with 7 shafts what do you suggest for the 3

Asked by: TKeen
The Xcaliber taper tip iron shafts could match well with the MX 900 Mizuno irons. I know we are currently out of stock on some of the Xcaliber taper tip shafts and we will not be getting them in stock until the first part of December. I know it shows we have the sets in stock but if we do not have the individual shafts in stock the sets would not be in stock. We simply pull the individual shafts when a set order comes in. http://www.golfworks.com/axe-xcaliber-taper-tip-graphite-iron-shafts/p/AS0028/

I have a set of ping zing 2, red dot (1* flat) 3-sw, ls, lw with steel jz shafts that i hit a little high. Considering reshafting with the .355 xcaliber graphite shaft. Can i cut down the 39" regular shaft to place it in the 5 and so on down the line?

Asked by: Jason
The 39" raw length shaft is actually the 4 iron shaft. Xcaliber does not offer a 3 iron shaft with these taper tip shafts. You could start with the 4 iron shaft into the 3 iron and you would have to use the 36" shaft in the 9 iron and wedges. This will make the shafts play approximately a quarter to half a flex stiffer then their listed flex.
