Xcaliber Shaft Specifications

AXE XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Fairway Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from XCaliber Tour SL FW Fitted to a TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 3-wood. The stock TM stiff shaft was very light (48g) and I hit the 3-wood further off the tee than most of my playing partners' hit their drivers, but consistency/dispersion was poor and I had trouble getting height off the deck, so I tried the XCaliber Tour SL stiff flex on the recommendation of a playing partner who has a +2 handicap. It is amazing! Still light and long, but much more stable through impact and getting great results off the tee and fairway. I play to a 5 handicap. Definitely worth considering for a lightweight fairway wood.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stable distance, fantastic trajectory. I can't say enough about this shaft. I purchased the Tour SL FW shaft in Regular flex. I installed this in my favorite Power Play Brassie 2W. It is hard to describe how good this shaft feels, and how it seems to have the great soft feel and distance characteristics of Regular flex with the stable feeling and tight dispersion characteristics of a Stiff flex. The trajectory is insane: it looks like one of those late-rising 100+ mph fastballs thrown by an ace MLB closer, with a late rise and beautiful descent angle that gives perfect release and run-out. Highly recommended. I hit my driver approximately 225 yards in the air and this 2-wood gets me about 215 in the air, but the 2 wood can be hit from the deck. FYI the tape measure is longer after run of course, but roll out is course-variable so I didn't include. Happy club-smithing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Fairway Wood Shaft Just installed a AXE XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Fairway Wood Shaft - Stiff in my M1 3 wood.  It is fantastic.  I had a Kurokage Black reg shaft installed when I purchased but it was vevry disappointing.  This shaft hit the ball higher, straighter and much longer. Need comparable driver shaft!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Shaft! I bought these shafts and installed them in taylormade areo burner knockoffs. They are regular flex and they totally outperform my taylormade aero burners with regular shafts. Especially if I get a little aggressive with my swing. Once I get back to Florida I will be changing them out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Solid Shaft Put it in my favorite fairway (4 wood; don't carry a 3) and am very happy with its performance. Very good length and most importantly, excellent feel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel, superb accuracy. Great consistency, with hook or fade. Very light and workable.

Tour S or stiff SL shaft on a 15* taylormade aeroburner head?  I want to be able to have a higher launch off the deck.

Asked by: Burdis
The Tour SL (AS0029) is designed to produce a higher ball flight then the Pro. The Aeroburner 3 wood used a .350" tip diameter shaft so you will need shim the .335" tip diameter shaft to properly fit this head. You can use the SHIM15 along with a standared ferrule like the BB0006 or you could use the Universal Plastic Shim (BB9018). http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/ http://www.golfworks.com/collared-golf-club-ferrules/p/BB0001/ http://www.golfworks.com/universal-shim-with-ferrule-335/p/BB9018/

Love the XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Fairway Wood Shaft - S installed in M1 3 wood.  It is fantastic.  What is the comparable driver shaft for my M1?  I'm a scratch hdcp, hit 8 iron 150 yds and hit driver 260 - 270.  Driver swing speed range 96-100. Thx

Asked by: Ricky_L
I would recommend the Tour SL (AS0026) Wood shaft in an S flex. We get very good feedback from this shaft and it could match well with the M1 driver.

Hi. Do you recommend this shaft for the SLDR Mini Driver with 12* Loft? The current length is at 43". Playing a stiff flex do you recommend S or TS?

Asked by: Edwin
The Xcaliber Tour SL could match well with the SLDR Mini Driver. We would recommend an S flex for swingspeeds in the 93 to 107 mph range and TS for players with swingspeeds 108+.

i have a plan to change my fairway wood shaft from ping g25, tfc189 fairway shaft(stiff) to axe xcaliber tour sl fairway shaft(r), code no.as0029, but tip dia is diffrent with .350", .335".. let me know that i can change it avaibale? or not?

Asked by: duk song
The information I have is the G25 fairway woods used a .335" tip diameter shaft. So there would be no problem using the Xcaliber Tour SL shaft. You will need the PGC001 shaft adaptor for the Ping unless you are planning on reshafting the existing shaft adaptor. http://www.golfworks.com/ping-i25-g25-anser-shaft-adaptor/p/PGC001/

WHAT DO I NEED TO BUY? I WANT TO REPLACE THE SHAFT ON MY TAYLOR MADE R11, DRIVER WHICH IS 43" AND MY 3 WOOD WHICH IS 41". I WAS TOLD THE C CALIBER TOUR SL -S FLEX . ALSO TOLD I NEEDED A .350" TIP SHAFT ADOPTER. I DON'T SEE THESE ITEMS ON THE ORDER

Asked by: Jim43
To properly install the Xcaliber shafts into the R11 driver and 3 wood you will need to use the Taylor Made TM0016 shaft adapters. These shaft adapters accept a .335" shaft tip size and will install into the R11 driver and 3 wood. http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-r11-s-r11-and-r9-shaft-adaptor-sleeve/p/TM0016/ http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-r11-r11s-tp-special-buy-2-get-3/p/TM0016S/ If you do not have the Taylor Made wrench to change out the shaft adapter you will need that as well. http://www.golfworks.com/taylormade-universal-torque-wrench/p/TM0018/

I NEED A TOUR SL S FLEX 36" LONG FOR A TAYLOR MADE R11 WHICH HAS A ADJUSTABLE HEAD. WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO BUY?

Asked by: Jim43
You would need a .335" shaft adapter for the R11 to properly install the Xcaliber Tour SL shaft. The stock shaft adapter for the R11 driver used a .350" tip shaft.

Would answer to question #2 regarding white and red lines apply to left hand golfers?

Asked by: Roy40
For a left hand golfer you could still put the Red line on the top of the shaft. These shafts are tested using an oscillation test, they are not tested for a spine, and as long as the white line is facing or facing away from the target you will be OK.

What's the difference between this and the AXE XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Wood Shaft? Seems to me the weight is heavier but is that all? Can I use this shaft on a driver (Srixon Z545)?

Asked by: Sean
You are correct that the fairway model is heavier. Along with that the stiffness profiles between the two are different as well as the total length of the shaft. Driver-46" & Fairway 45" respectively.
