Xcaliber Shaft Specifications

AXE XCaliber Tour SL Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 4.642857142857143 out of 5 by 14.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value. I have been searching for a shaft to put into my rbz driver head which performs better for me than the xcon7 shaft I had in it. I have tried tour ad di 6s, 7s, 6x, tour ad bb 6s, diamana Bluebeard motore speeder your spec shafts. Then I decided to try some of the lightweight shafts, and I have had some success with the old xcaliber tour sl shafts in fairway so wanted to give this a shot. It performs better than all those premium shafts that I now have to sell. It feels very stable, not whippy for a lightweight shaft. Direction control is amazing more point and shoot than my other shafts. And the lower weight helps me get it out there longer. I also have the match in fist way and hybrid shafts. A great purchase.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from gets it out there, but might not be for me driver ss hovers around 100. 11 handicap. low spin, low launch player who needs more spin and higher launch. this shaft was recommended after some great interaction with robin arthur. dude is first class! i like the way the shaft feels in my hands, and it looks great in an adams xtd ti 15* set to +1*. the shaft launches low, even in a 3w. try as i might, i just can't get it to kick enough at impact. distance-wise, it's great, as long as my typical drive. but i can't get it to carry even 200y, although it roll out another 30-40y. i also can't get it to turn over, so fades are easy but draws are just blocks. at the price, it's a great shaft, but i think these shafts are designed for stronger players with aggressive loads, and i don't fit that profile.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simply the best choice for me Put this into my R1 and was going to sell the club if this didn't work. TP shaft wasn't working for me at all. Ball now has great launch and carry with no light feel I thought it would have. Amazing that I could feel this shaft truly unload and spank the ball out there! Highly recommend this shaft!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome feel . After owning several Xcaliber shafts and being completely satisfied I finaly fitted my SLDR driver and Fairway woods with the Tour SL . I wished I would have done it earlier . Great feel , control , tight dispersion and great distance . You don't have to spend hundreds of dollars for a great shaft .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft I have been playing Excalibers for years and find these shafts to be terrific. The TS flex gives the player a 265 cpm shaft at 45" that is only 50 grams! Has to be the stiffest, lightest shaft on the market. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from X Cal Tour SL Great Shaft!! I have had the SL in S flex in my driver for a few years and just switched to the R flex. Very happy, not a lot of difference but as my SS as slowed the S was just getting to be work and the R fixes that just fine. I can move it either way; and low bullet or high rider. One of the best shafts for the $$$ anywhere on the planet!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mated with R1 driver I replaced the Aldila factory shaft with the Excaliber SL regular flex shaft on my Taylormade R1 driver. I am getting a more consistent ball flight and about 10 extra yards. This shaft and the R1 head work well together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long hit I purchased the sl for my driver head i had from the old days. Out drove the two new drivers i have today by 20 yards on a bad hit. This is the best shaft i have hit in a long time. Folks give it a try.

With a ss of about 105, what shaft would be recommended? I have a smooth tempo with a lower ball flight.

Asked by: Nealc
At 105 mph and a smooth tempo the S flex in this shaft should work fine.

where on the shaft can you find flex rating

Asked by: Taffy
The flex designation is just above the XCaliber insignia towards the butt end of shaft which is shown on the far left side of web image. There is also a sticker on the butt end of every raw shaft that includes the shaft code and flex.

Would the TS in the Tour SL5 be comparable to the S in the SWD50?  Interested in a little higher launch with lower spin but do not want to sacrifice dispersion.  Currently looking more to the Tour SL 5 for driver.  Driver swing speed is upwards of 110. TY

Asked by: cgmann
The Xcaliber Tour SL will definitely give you a higher trajectory than the SWD50. The SWD50 has a very stiff lower section for an Ultralight weight shaft. With your swing speed the TS in the Tour SL would probably be the best choice. The SL is still very stable, but just does not have as stiff a tip section as the SWD50.

I have an R11 that the shaft was broken by an airlines and I'm looking at putting the Excalibur SL in it.  Can I get it withthe R11 tip installed for me?

Asked by: George
The Xcaliber Tour SL is a very good shaft. Yes we can install the R11 shaft adaptor. You would need to purchase the shaft and the shaft adaptor and request to have us install the adaptor. You would need the TM0016 Taylor Made shaft adaptor.

I have a TM Burner S Fast 2.0 w/matrix Xcon 4.8 stiff shaft, head 10.5. Hit high 200-210 yds ss 90-95. suggestion for 1 or 2 step up in your x caliber shafts. I am 68 &         live in michigan (no roll)

Asked by: utiz11
The Burner Superfast 2.0 uses a .350" tip diameter shaft so you will need to use BB9008 ferrule adaptor to size the .335" tip diameter shaft into the .350" hosel bore.

Are the shafts review from this link same to the shafts being sold? Seems like a difference in graphics on the shafts.

Asked by: Sean
The white shafts in the image on the link were the original Tour SL wood shafts and the black shaft in the image was the original Tour Shaft. The SL has remained the same shaft, but with differnt artwork. The Tour is now the Pro and has a different look and some minor tweaks, but the playability should be basically the same.
