Bore Through Shaft Pins

Using epoxy, these graphite pins are inserted into the end of the shaft and sanded smooth to conform to the sole of the head. This method is efficient and will result in a factory finished look. The Black tip pins come 25 to a package. Now with a nail type head for easier installation.

Bore Through Shaft Pins is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to use; Poorly constructed These shaft pins are easy to use and work well; however, they have bubbles along their centerline that become pits in the finished club. I noticed the pits after I finished sanding and polishing the Callaway irons (angled through bore) I reshafted. The pits were also the first thing my friends noticed when inspecting my clubs. There seems to be a flaw in the manufacturing process, however, the pits do not appear to affect play, just the cosmetics of the club.

How are shaft pins used and installed?

Asked by: Al48
These are used to plug the center of the golf shaft in bore through golf club designs like the older Callaway bore through woods and irons and older Titleist drivers. In a bore through where the shaft goes through the bottom of the clubhead the hole in the center of the shaft needs to be filled. That is what these pins are for. The smaller tapered pin for graphite shaft and the larger pin for steel shafts. Here is a couple of links from Callaway's web site and you can see where the shaft comes through the bottom of the sole and the pin is used to plug the hole in the center of the shaft. http://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/iron-sets/irons-bb-2004.html?cgid=iron-sets http://www.callawaygolfpreowned.com/golf-clubs/drivers/drivers-gbb2-ps.html Here is a link to a You Tube video on how to finish the sole on a bore through driver. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SyIEJdxX0E
