"Last week, I finally had the AXE FW shafts installed in a couple of R5 FW heads. The AXE shafts replaced stiff flex stock MAS tip soft OEM models. I had the R flex AXE FWs tipped an extra 1/2" and built to the original stock length. The idea was to improve my accuracy and consistency with a more stable shaft than the stock OEM offering. I liked the R5 heads, but needed a tighter playing shaft that would handle a more aggressive tempo.
The first shot with the 5W was high and dead straight with a superb feel. The shaft had just enough lag to let me feel the head through the swing and get it square through impact with good timing. It was stable enough handle my uneven swings with acceptable accuracy. I also had great results with the 3W and shot a personal course best thanks to a 205 yarder to an elevated green into a slight headwind on the 18th. It was a career FW shot. Time will tell about distances, but my initial impression is that they are about as long as anything I've hit and more accurate.
All in all, I am astounded by how good these woods are now that they have the AXE FWs in them. I just put them in for fun, but the performance is so good, they may just make the first team. It's hard to imagine a better performing shaft at any price. I highly recommend these shafts. I found a better fit than I had even hoped for.

"I want to thank you for the guidance on the shaft replacement. I played in a golf tournament last Friday and
my friend, Matt, tried out his Titleist driver for the first time
with his new Xcaliber shaft. He consistantly drove the ball
25 yards further than he had with the old OEM shaft."
