Nationwide Tour Grads Earn Their Cards with True Temper
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — When chasing the dream to play on the PGA TOUR, the Nationwide Tour’s aspiring and talented ‘young guns’ rely on one shaft company more than any other — True Temper Sports. Once again, the developmental tour will send 25 graduates to the 2011 PGA TOUR, and 24 of those 25 earned the trip playing shafts by True Temper.
The overwhelming popularity of True Temper’s Dynamic Gold and Project X brands was further proof that professional golfers trust True Temper to deliver winning results more than any other shaft manufacturer. Across the PGA, Nationwide and European Tours, True Temper shafts delivered 103 wins this year alone, including victories at all four Majors.
“These newest graduates from the Nationwide Tour are the great players of tomorrow, and we’re proud that True Temper shafts are a trusted part of their game,” says Chad Hall, director of global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “Dynamic Gold and Project X shafts have established historic legacies linked to the greatest players in the game. What is exciting about this 2010 class is they play Dynamic Gold and Project X as well as some of our newer products, including DG Spinner and Project X graphite, and are already seeing winning results.”
The Number One selling shaft in golf, Dynamic Gold is preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. Dynamic Gold has earned world-renown respect as the winningest shafts in the history of the game. The Project X line of shafts are also proven winners, including the all-new Project X graphite shaft which has quickly established itself as the premier graphite shaft in the game today.
True Temper Sweeps Weekend Wins Worldwide
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper once again demonstrated superior consistency on the world stage, delivering wins at this weekend's Zurich Classic on the PGA Tour, the South Georgia Classic on the Nationwide Tour and the Ballantines Championship on the European Tour. The pro tour triple-play was further evidence that professional golfers trust True Temper shafts to deliver winning results more than any other manufacturer.
The champion at the Zurich Classic played Rifle shafts in his irons to capture his first win of the year. Overall True Temper dominated the shaft count in the Big Easy with 132 sets of irons in play, more than 10 times any other competitor. This week's Nationwide Tour winner used Dynamic Gold shafts in his irons to land the South Georgia Classic, and 100 percent of the Top 10 players at the event trusted shafts by True Temper. Meanwhile, on the European Tour, the first-place winner at the Ballantines Championship had a complete bag of shafts by True Temper, including the new Project X graphite shafts in his driver, 3-wood and hybrid clubs as well as Dynamic Gold Tour Issue shafts in his irons.
"Players rely upon True Temper brands more than any other brand in the world and the reasons for that are very simple — winning results," says Scott Hennessy, president and CEO of True Temper Sports. "Innovative designs and state-of-the-art engineering year after year continue to deliver the shaft performance golfers of all skill levels demand and expect from the game's No. 1 shaft manufacturer. While Dynamic Gold and Rifle continue their winning legacies, we are excited to see the popularity of our new Project X graphite shafts grow on the worldwide tours each week. In fact, between the PGA, Nationwide and European tours, there were 91 pieces of the Project X graphite shaft in play this weekend."
The top-selling shaft in golf, Dynamic Gold shafts are preferred by skilled players seeking a low, penetrating ball flight. Dynamic Gold has earned world-renown respect as the most winningest shafts in the history of the game. The Project X line of shafts are also proven winners, including the all-new Project X graphite shafts which deliver similar bend and stiffness profiles as Project X irons, plus adds the benefits of graphite. Dynamic Gold shafts are available in tapered and parallel irons and parallel woods. The new Project X graphite shafts are available in woods and hybrids.
True Temper Delivers Another Green Jacket
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - With one of the largest television audiences in the history of golf, Project X shafts delivered consistency and accuracy to win the 2010 Masters Tournament. This year’s Masters champion earned his third Green Jacket and fourth major title, playing Project X shafts in his irons. He shot a 67-71-67-67 (272), including an incredible shot on the 13th hole, and moved into fourth-place in the FedExCup standings.
The victory at Augusta National was the 10th consecutive win at The Masters for shafts designed and manufactured by True Temper, and the 13th win during the 2010 PGA TOUR season. With 100 percent of the Top 10 money positions and 79 sets in play among the entire field, True Temper brands were clearly the shafts of choice at The Masters. Additionally, True Temper shafts were #2 in the overall wood shaft count this past weekend.
“The Masters is one of the game’s most revered tournaments so we are incredibly proud to have played a role in another victory at Augusta National,” says Chad Hall, director of product marketing and global tour operations for True Temper Sports. “To continue to be the preferred iron shaft among the world’s best players and now the number two choice for wood shafts is a huge endorsement for the designs True Temper brings to the game. Our engineers remain dedicated to providing golfers of all skill levels with shafts that provide maximum performance in accuracy, consistency and distance.”
So far this season, Project X and Rifle shafts have already collected an impressive list of wins, including the SBS Championship, Northern Trust Open, Moonah Classic, Honda Classic, World Golf Championships-CA Championship, Puerto Rico Open, Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Masters.
The success of Project X has been punctuated by this year’s introduction of the new Project X graphite shafts which accounted for three PGA Tour victories. The straight taper and short tip section of the Project X iron shafts provides maximum energy transfer with low spin rates required for penetrating iron shots. By combing this design platform with eight premium graphite materials, the Project X wood and hybrid shafts are quickly becoming known as the lowest spinning graphite shafts available. While Project X iron shafts remain a favorite among top tour players, Project X wood shafts also are gaining popularity with the biggest names in golf trusting Project X in their drivers. The Project X graphite shafts are available in woods and hybrids.
