Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product The economy Iron Bending Machine is a good product. But I did not need to mount it to the floor. I bolted it to a heavy piece of steel angle and clamp that in a vise fixed to a solid bench. That puts everything in perfect position. I made one other change that makes it extremely easy to use. I had a helmet-mount bicycle mirror sitting around. Once stuck to the side of the angled part of the frame with double-stick foam tape, I was able to adjust it to allow me to see the alignment of grooves without moving from the back of the tool. This greatly simplifies the process and should be included in every unit sold.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Easy to assemble All in all a good enough product for my purposes. However the 'lie' gauge is 1 degree off to the upright direction. No biggie. The knob to tighten the clamp to the back face of the unit, the thread stripped after 2 clubs were adjusted. Ended up fitting a 3/8" nut and washer.

Sir, is this machine/tool able to bend iron clubs that are not made of forged irons.?

Asked by: AJ the DJ
Yes you can bend most cast stainless steel irons in this machine. There are always some irons that are just not adjustable. We have this list on our web site that you can reference.

Please include a video on how to use this device. This video should show how to load & clamp a club show the  existing loft and lie of the club, then how to bend both loft & lie, and then show the resulting loft and lie of the club after bending.

Asked by: roseland67
We will certainly consider a video but in the mean time we do have these step by step photo instructions. If you have any questions I would be glad to help you either by email at or by calling 1-800-848-8358 and asking for Jim at extension 1184.

T Wishon says the gauges on all bending machines should only be used to determine distance of bend, and that the only accurate measurements is with a stand alone loft/lie gauge.  So one only needs basic club clamp and a good gauge, would you agree?

Asked by: Jim P
Yes I would agree. Knowing that Tom worked for The GolfWorks years ago it is quite likely he learned that from Ralph who as always taught this method of measuring. Loft and Lie bending machines read the lie angle off the scoring lines and if the scoring lines are not parallel to the center of the sole the lie angle readings will not be correct from a specification stand point. The gauges on a loft and lie machine are there to read the changes. I have personally used the bending machine as just a clamp for years. In fact I own an old Kenneth Smith bending machine that has no gauges. It is just a clamp to hold the club.

Can you mount this unit to the Heavy Duty Multi Position Bending Machine Stand? Thank you.

As it is designed it will not mount to the Heavy Duty Stand. However we can drill holes in the stand to match up to the Economy Iron Bending Machine so that it can be mounted. You would be best to contact Customer Service at 1-800-848-8358 and they would be able to help you with this order.
