Trimming Instructions

Grafalloy Pro Custom Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tested the Grafalloy Procustom I chose the shaft based on the Golfworks criteria. I installed one on my 7 iron and I hit it 170 from the fairway with a slight draw. I'll be purchasing shafts for the rest of my irons asap.

If a shaft is shortened at the tip how much stiffness will it add? If a L is shortened at tip, will it becomes as stiff as a senior flex?

Asked by: Golffinesse
Depends on how much shorter you make it at the tip end. A rule of thumb with graphite shafts is that 1" of tip trimming is equal to approximately a full flex. So tip trimming an L flex 1" from the tip would make the shaft play more like an A (Senior) flex.

What would you recommend to replace a Yonex LTB600 shaft?

Asked by: Dennis
With all your individual questions asking which shaft compares best to the Yonex Boron LTB600 shaft this Project X (TT0115) would be the closest. The Yonex shaft was in the mid 80 to low 90 gram weight range. It was designed for a mid low to low trajectory. The GD0036 Graphite Design G Series 83 gram could be a good choice as well.

Broke my long tom shaft - 50 G L/M ratio.178  tip flex 120 low kick  mid torque stiff  flex   Help!

Asked by: Doogie
The stock shaft in the Long Tom driver was the Grafalloy Blackbird which was 52 grams, 47" raw length, 6.3 degrees torque with a low bend point soft tip stiffness. Grafalloy made this shaft specifically for the Long Tom driver. Based on raw length the ProCustom would work as a replacement but will likely not play to it listed stiffness at the longer length the way the Blackbird did.

I have a new grafalloy pro custom graphite wood shaft, what is the flex of this shaft? The label says upcgwal-48, m51a-48pa, 2015-4-25, tip 335/6, 163, par.

Asked by: Gary
This shaft is an A/L combination flex shaft. In the first code upcgwal the WAL tells us this is a Wood shaft (W) and the al tells us this is an A/L combination flex. This shaft can be cut for a Senior flex (A) or Ladies flex (L). For the Senior flex you would follow trim code W28 and for the L flex you would follow W27. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf
