KBS Tour C-Taper Shaft Specs

KBS Tour C-Taper Steel Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not Just for hard swingers The C-Taper shafts were designed to fit a very specific group of players who hit the ball very high due to very high swing speeds - for these elite players the C-Tapers was designed for them. Those of us outside of this group the shaft will still help lower trajectory and correct our balloned shots (due to swing fault of flipping rather than due to high ball speeds). However we often make the mistake of just buying the same flex in the C-Taper from what we've been using and ends up with a shaft that is way too stiff - the C-Tapers is about 1/3 of a flex stiffer than comparable shafts. KBS recommends soft stepping C-Tapers once or twice to make it more playable for us average joes. I first started playing C-Taper S+ straight in, felt it required very good swings to get anything out of it, then went to PXi (too light), DGS300 (too much spin), and now back to C-Taper S+ but soft stepped twice (bring flex down from 6.7 to 6.1 which is closer to a standard S-flex KBS T

Rated 5 out of 5 by from unreal i have about 10 rounds on these shafts in the s+ flex. i have played every shaft on the market, and these have no comparison. better feel, longer, awesome penetrating ballflight, and the tightest dispersion ive ever seen. picked up 10+ yds per club over the rifle 6.0's ive played for the last 5 yrs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for low handicaps I'm handicap +1,5 (euro) and been playing KBS Tour X 130g for many years. Decided to change one of my golf set with the C-taper 130 X (apex pro). I'm happy that I did, I've lost some feeling but working the ball, the flight is more stable, more deep and less spin, consequently more distance. (5-8 yards). I would not recommend this shaft if you are looking for feeling, when you miss, you will feel it...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get Fit I started with the new KBS C-Taper shafts in the stiff + and was so excited to play these amazing new shafts that made such claims as the 5% gain distance, 5% lower traq. and 5% less spin. I am currently a 4.7 handicap that plays at least twice a week here in North Scottsdale. Driver speed 105 good for around 275-280 yards. Iron play is pretty consistent on most days. I have played x-100's, Px 5.5 and Px 6.0, and KBS tour stiff over the last couple of years. What I found is that these play stiffer than you think they will. I used the KBS fitting system on their website and KBS suggested I use the stiff +. So about $250.00 later I had some in my Miura CB501's. They require a lot of attention to hit well, you can't just swing away and have fun. If I put a great swing on the shot the shaft performed as advertised, but anything less than perfect had adverse affects on the outcome. After several rounds I conceded defeat and went back to my KBS tour stiffs, but it s

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 100% agree with the above poster I 100% agree with the comments by Mike Williford as above. I was fit for the X-stiff (6 iron swing speed 95-98mph with ball speed 130/driver SS 110-118, .25 inch short, 2degrees flat) and have played x100 and PX6.5. I think he is right on the money saying that they require attention and commitment- I feel these play stiffer than x100 and PX6.5 and as far as the 5%/5%/5%, I would definitely agree with the 5% less spin (this was the reason I went with the Ctaper)- for me drop and stop- no sucking back- 3-4-5 iron maybe 5 to 8 feet of roll out. As for the 5% lower trajectory and 5% more distance- not so much- but this is for ME and may not apply to you. I have them in 712/AP2 and I had to de-loft (1-1.5 degrees)my 6-PW to get back to my normal distances and lower the ball flight- I was losing distance when the ball ballooned farther down range and fell straight out of the sky- granted, Titleist has weaker lofts than say Mizuno.... As a test I ordered a S+ shaft and p

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COMPARABLE ALTERNATIVE This was a replacement shaft for a friend. The quality was very good, well within specifications posted and made replacement with similar characteristics simple. Very good alternative to tour rated shafts.

I have shafts in my irons which are 1" longer than normal. Do i just order by length vs the iron listed for? Thank you

Asked by: vrocket
The listed raw lengths of these shafts is long enough to handle the 1" long length that you use. You can just order the recommended shafts for each club number, install them and you will probably still have to cut to your finished length from the butt end.

Kbs tour c taper 105 regular  not the lite be ok my driver swing speed 95 to 105 ?

Asked by: Mag07
We do not have any information on the C Taper 105 shafts. So far they have been mostly a Taylor Made only product. It may work fine but one thing I have seen from testing KBS shafts is that if they make a lighter weight version it will play more flexible then the standard weight version in the same flex.

I just bought a golf shaft from you folks and I may not have gotten the correct one. What I needed was the 4 iron  , The order number was 9877540

Asked by: albert
The 4 iron shaft is the 40" raw length shaft for the C-Taper. You can check on your order by contacting Customer Service at 1-800-848-8358 or by email at golfworks@golfworks.com.

I was fitted this week for x-stiff shaft.  I hit the x-100 and C-taper 130 both in the Taylormade PSI and  PSI Forged.  I see sets of irons online with x-stiff C-taper 105.  Is the C-taper 105 going to be close to the C-taper 130 or the x-100?

Asked by: Jeff Rollins
The C-Taper Light X flex is actually 115 grams in the taper tip version. It is a mid/high trajectory shaft, where the X100 or the standard C-Taper are both low trajectory shafts. The X100 and the Standard C-Taper will definitely play stiffer than the C-Taper light and both are at least 15 grams heavier.

Looking to fit my Ping D.I. with the C-Taper. Info from Ping indicates the existing shaft is 39.75". When I look at the options available this would be between a 4i and 5i length. Are Ping and KBS measuring the same way? My driving iron is a long club.

Asked by: HGilmore
For the Ping DI #2 in the C-Taper shafts you would use the 41" raw length shaft which is the 2 iron shaft. You will install the shaft and then cut the club length to the 39.75" finished length. Shaft raw lengths are always longer then the finished club length to allow for longer then standard lengths and different hosel designs.

Will these work for the Taylormade RSI-1 Irons?

Asked by: BlueIrish
The Taylor Made RSi-1 irons use a .370" parallel tip shaft. To install the FS0026 which is a .355" taper tip into these irons you would need to use a shim. Our SHIMT for shimming taper tips irons into a parallel hosel bore work well. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=SHIM You could use the FS0027 C-taper .370" parallel tip shafts in these Taylor Made irons. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=FS0027

When a shaft is Pured, how do you indicate the alignment of the head to the pured shaft? Is there a noticeable difference to the performance of the club?

Asked by: slapthecabbage
When shafts are Pured there is a label put on the shaft near the tip of the shaft for alignment purposes. The line goes on top of the shaft when installed. There can be a noticeable difference in how a Pured shaft plays but because shafts can vary in the manufacturing process sometimes it is more noticeable then others. Here is a link to the SST Pure web site and if you scroll down the page there is a video you can watch that shows and explains the process. http://sstpure.com/

Hi. Looking for plus ONE Inch (+1") end result. Want to change from current C Taper Lite +1.25" on TaylorMade Tour Preferred TP MB 3-PW. Looking to see if U can just Tip Cut to specs (if needed), and I will cut the Butt after shaft install.

Asked by: GoldBloom
Your Taylor Made Tour Preferred TP MB irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. There is no tip trimming with a .355" taper tip shafts. You will just install them and butt cut to your finished length.
