KBS Tour Taper Tip Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.875 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ping like a surgeon I visited Tampa Golf in search on new clubs and have since spent countless hours hitting club after club. After picking the Ping i10 irons, shafts became the next item to pick. With my swing speed being 105+, the Ping offerings fell short of my needs. "Snap" mocked up a 6 iron with the KBS Tour X-Flex shaft and it was a match made in heaven. With this shaft, not only can you hear and FEEL impact, the shot consistency was amazing. The problem with most X-Flex shafts is the extreme rigid feel they have at impact, but not the KBS. I actually had to have him check to make sure it was not a mislabeled shaft as it felt so smooth and fluid from start to finish in my swing. Needless to say, performance on these went unmatched with my fitting experience! Great work KBS!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KBS TOUR SHAFT I put KBS tour stiff .355 tapered shafts in Titleist AP2's and absolutly love them! I play to a 3 handicap from a course here with a Donald Ross designed greens that plays up to 7,000 yards. I play in individual stroke play tournaments against some of the best players in the area. The shot dispersion is very tight with these shafts, there seems to be a type of correction in the shaft that keeps the ball flight on its INTENTIONAL path if it strays on slight mis-hits or slight adjustments in swing path or club alignment at impact. The distance seems to hold much better on mis-hits to, there is something very new and unique about this shaft design. The shafts seem to do what you want them to do, usualy a good shot produced a good result, but with these shafts a good shot can turn into an excellent shot. The ball comes of the shaft very penetrating and stays up with no ballooning and has good spin on landing. The best way to put it is this shaft feels like your playing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Shaft for a Smooth Swing This was a replacement for a damaged shaft, and they have performed so well that I used the same shaft in the replacement process...I do experiment a great deal, but this shaft is hard to beat for feel and consistent performance...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel Great! I have played DY Gold for 30 years. My new KBS shafts feel great. I bought the 125g tour s+. They apex aboutthree foot higher with my long irons and the muffled feeling vibration feels really nice off my blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft Very consistent. Great service from golfworks on delivering on time. If you have a ss of 85 - 90mph works great if you soft step once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kbs tour I have used dynamic gold and project x shafts. The kbs provide better feel with same or better accuracy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good shaft Good shaft but this version was too heavy for my needs with a small blade.

What does it mean by "pureing" a shaft? Also, what is tip & butt trimming and tip prepping? Does it make a noticeable difference?

Asked by: JZ5
To explain "Puring" I always tell people that there is no such thing as a perfectly round or perfectly straight golf shaft. Puring is a process that tests the shaft and finds it most neutral plane of oscillation and marks the shafts so that when they are installed the shafts will play as if they are perfectly round and straight. You can read more about Puring at their web site as well as watch a video on the process. http://sstpure.com/ Shaft Prep is for customers who want to assemble the clubs themselves but do not have the equipment to cut and sand the shafts. We will prep the shafts so that they are both tip and butt cut for the customers clubs and the tips sanded for installation.

Hi, I broke a Titleist ap iron shaft, KBS Tour Stiff #7 iron. The information on the shaft says: "KBS Tour S #7 i 78442 11.4.6BK+"  Would you have this specific shaft? Thanks, Mike Ichikawa

Asked by: Mike I
For a KBS Tour S flex #7 iron shaft you need to order FS0018. You need to order the 7 iron shaft. It will be installed and butt cut to the clubs finished length. http://www.golfworks.com/kbs-tour-taper-tip-steel-iron-shafts/p/FS0018/

On the stock spec table for my 714 AP1s, it says my 5 iron length is 38". I ordered the clubs with KBS TOURS (not stock XP95) and broke the 5 iron shaft today. Which length should I buy for replacement?

Asked by: Evan
The stock KBS Tour shaft for the 5 iron is the 39.5" raw length shaft. You will install it and butt cut it to the 38" finished length for you 5 iron.

what shaft should you use when hard stepping a KBS tour regular for your 9 and wedge?

Asked by: aperrigan
Since the 37.5" shaft is for the 9 iron and wedges there is no way to hard step within the same flex. What I would do with the wedges is to move up a flex. The KBS Tour taper tips come in S and S+ flexes. If I am using the S flex for the rest of the set and hard stepping I would then use the S+ 37.5" wedge shaft for my 9 iron and wedges.

adding length to irons effects the in what way,

Asked by: craigshade
For every 1/2" of length you add you will increase the swingweight of the club by 3 swingweight points. At 1/2" of length added the shaft flex will basically stay the same because the butt end of the shaft is the stiffest end and you are adding the increased length at the butt end. At 1/2" longer the fact that you added the length at the stiffest end offsets the 3 swingweight increase. At 1" longer or longer the shaft will start to get more flexible.

I have cobra amp forged with the KBS tur s plus shaft can i trim a 1/2" of the butt and not affect the performance?

Asked by: airraider
Shortening these irons by 1/2" will lighten them by 3 swingweights and make the shafts play about a quarter of a flex stiffer then they are now. It is hard to say for sure just how this might effect your performance. You may well hit them better. It is one of those things we never know for sure until we try it. If you add weight to the clubheads to bring the swingweights back to the same as they were before you shortened them by 1/2" the shaft flex will stay the same as it was originally.

Can you please tell me the distance from the tip to the first step for the tapered KBS Tour 90's? I have some used irons that have different KBS labels. Thank you.

Asked by: RWTM
The tip to first step measurement on the KBS Tour 90 .370" parallel tip iron shafts is 12" on the R flex and 9" on the S flex. Also the measurement from the butt end to first step down from the butt end is 5.25" for the R flex and 8.25" for the S flex.
