KBS Tour Taper Tip Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.9 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ping like a surgeon I visited Tampa Golf in search on new clubs and have since spent countless hours hitting club after club. After picking the Ping i10 irons, shafts became the next item to pick. With my swing speed being 105+, the Ping offerings fell short of my needs. "Snap" mocked up a 6 iron with the KBS Tour X-Flex shaft and it was a match made in heaven. With this shaft, not only can you hear and FEEL impact, the shot consistency was amazing. The problem with most X-Flex shafts is the extreme rigid feel they have at impact, but not the KBS. I actually had to have him check to make sure it was not a mislabeled shaft as it felt so smooth and fluid from start to finish in my swing. Needless to say, performance on these went unmatched with my fitting experience! Great work KBS!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from KBS TOUR SHAFT I put KBS tour stiff .355 tapered shafts in Titleist AP2's and absolutly love them! I play to a 3 handicap from a course here with a Donald Ross designed greens that plays up to 7,000 yards. I play in individual stroke play tournaments against some of the best players in the area. The shot dispersion is very tight with these shafts, there seems to be a type of correction in the shaft that keeps the ball flight on its INTENTIONAL path if it strays on slight mis-hits or slight adjustments in swing path or club alignment at impact. The distance seems to hold much better on mis-hits to, there is something very new and unique about this shaft design. The shafts seem to do what you want them to do, usualy a good shot produced a good result, but with these shafts a good shot can turn into an excellent shot. The ball comes of the shaft very penetrating and stays up with no ballooning and has good spin on landing. The best way to put it is this shaft feels like your playing

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Reliable Shaft for a Smooth Swing This was a replacement for a damaged shaft, and they have performed so well that I used the same shaft in the replacement process...I do experiment a great deal, but this shaft is hard to beat for feel and consistent performance...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smooth and high Made a switch to the Tour X from the C Taper X in my 712 mb's. Great feel with this shaft, even in wedges. Much higher ball flight in comparison to C Tapers. Getting the ball in the air is almost too easy, even with long irons.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Feel Great! I have played DY Gold for 30 years. My new KBS shafts feel great. I bought the 125g tour s+. They apex aboutthree foot higher with my long irons and the muffled feeling vibration feels really nice off my blades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft Very consistent. Great service from golfworks on delivering on time. If you have a ss of 85 - 90mph works great if you soft step once.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Kbs tour I have used dynamic gold and project x shafts. The kbs provide better feel with same or better accuracy.

Hi, I have a set of Callaway X12 irons and would like to replace them with KBS shafts. Will these KBS tour taper steel shafts work?

Asked by: Lilcdn
Callaway actually used .370" parallel tip shafts in these irons. The hosel bore starts out as a .370" and then tapers at the bottom to .350". Callaway cut slots length wise into the tip of the shaft so the shaft tip would compress when installed. You may still need to slot a taper tip shaft. Keep in mind with taper tip shafts you will need to soft step 2 shafts (3 iron into the 5 iron) to maintain the flex of the shaft because of the bore through design. With a .370" parallel tip you would tip trim 1" less then what is recommended to maintain the flex of the shaft. if you do not do this the shafts can play up to a half a flex stiffer then what they say they are.

I currently play Project X 6.0 taper tip and read they play stiffer than KBS Tours. I am comfortable w/ the feel of PX. Should I get an X flex in the KBS Tour to replicate the feel? No idea what my swingspeed is with an iron.

Asked by: VeroDeplorable
In our test data the KBS Tour S flex is softer in the tip section then the Project X 6.0. Even the KBS Tour X flex is more flexible in the tip section then the Project X 6.0 but the KBS Tour X flex is stiffer through the top and middle part of the shaft compared to the Project X 6.0. The stepless shaft will have a different feel then a stepped shaft and the KBS Tour shafts have a higher balance point then the Project X this also creates a different feel. We reference an 8 iron from 150 yards for an S flex and a 9 iron or wedge from 150 yards for an X flex.

I have KBS shafts in my irons and they're awesome. I'd like to put these in two hybrids that call for a .355 tip. Would anything prevent this?

Asked by: wbz41
There is no problem using these in a hybrid at all.

Asked by: acesidedoor
If your stock shafts were Dynamic Gold's these Tour 90 shafts should help create a higher launch for you. They could work well.

The Regular flex is 110 grams. From there, each flex gets 5 grams heavier.

I want to change the shafts in my Taylormade Tour Preferred MC(2011). They have T.T Dynamic Gold S300(D2) an injury has lowered my swing speed by 10 mph down to 95, need a shaft to help get more height and lighten the club. Any KBS recommendations.

Asked by: Smitty63
From an injury standpoint it would make sense to possibly go to a lighter shaft and one that helps with a higher trajectory. I would recommend the KBS Tour 90 shafts. You could still stay in stiff and drop 25-30 grams in shaft weight. The Tour 90 will help promote a higher launch.
