KBS Tour V Steel Iron Shafts

The KBS TOUR V shaft is a slightly modified version of the the popular KBS Tour shafts. The KBS Tour V shafts are lighter than the original KBS Tour shafts and also feature a larger tube diameter to produce a mid level launch angle with lower spin for a significantly tighter shot dispersion.

  • Delivers a medium trajectory, low spinning golf shot with a smooth all-around feel
  • Maximizes energy transfer for smooth feel and faster ball speeds
  • Available in 3 flexes from 100grams to 120grams

KBS Tour V Shaft Specs

KBS Tour V Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed balance point compared to Dynamic Gold I replaced a True Temper Dynamic Gold Sensicore R300 with the KBS Tour V Stiff shaft in my 8 iron as a test, as recommended by the KBS website shaft selector. It weighs 110g vs. 127g for DG. The butt end has noticeably less taper than the DG so the grip feels a little larger in my rt hand (ri handed). The weight distribution has help me put less tension and effort into initiating my down swing and develop a better feel for lag. It has also helped me with my other irons that still have DG shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb As an older person I have been down the blind alley of trying lighter weigh, softer flex shafts and have done a U turn, With the Tour V in X flex. What a great shaft, no boardy feel, in fact very smooth and consistent, ball goes where you aim. Shafts have a distinct spine on my aligner and recommend this be done for proper installation. I was huge fan of the Rifle shafts some years ago. Looks like Kim Braly has done it again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too stiff Ordered a 7 and 3 iron shafts for my taper tip RSI tours to see if these would be better than C taper lites that go nowhere for me. Mistake!! 7 iron felt good and I hit it a bit further but the 3 iron felt like a pole and trajectory was to low. Having a lot of trouble finding a KBS shaft that will work for me!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tour V Shafts Wow! I have used True Temper, ProjectX and now the KBS Tour V. These shafts feel incredible and have a nice mid ball flight. The distance is about the same as the other shafts but these feel much smoother. I would highly recommend trying these shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr. I ordered the KBS Tour V in my Cobra Bio-Cell Plus irons and they are the best combination for feel, consistency, and distance that I have ever had. TM numbers don't lie!

Looking to replace the Apollo Hump shafts in my newly refurbished iron heads. I see the Hump is no longer available. This shaft, Tour V, appears it might play similar based on shaft characteristics. Would you say the same? If not, what is? Thanks.

Asked by: WkndWarrior
The KBS Tour V could possibly be a good choice to replace the Hump. The Hump was stiffer in the tip because of the increased diameter and had a .580" butt diameter which made it more butt flexible. The weight of the Hump shaft was listed at 108 grams for the R flex and 114 grams for the S flex. With the Tour V being listed with a more stable tip that could be a good match. The hard part will be matching the feel of the butt end because of the smaller butt diameter of the Hump shaft.

I bought a set of KBS VTOUR from you. In one of jour answer, you Say that "Kbs tour v taper out to approximatly 0,370 where the tip exits the hosel..." which ferrule size should i use then as the 0,355 seem not to fit.

Asked by: Sapinus
The .355" ferrules will fit very tight. You could use any of the .370" ferrules, plain black or with trim rings. They will fit the .355" taper tip shafts just fine and will match up a little closer in size to the outside diameter of the hosel.

Kbs tour v 110. Or nippon 1150. Both stiff comments please

Asked by: BenHogan
The KBS Tour V S flex is a little lighter weight and an overall stiffer shaft then the Nippon 1150. Even the KBS Tour V R flex tested stiffer then the Nippon 1150 in our testing.

I got tour v shafts and 7i shaft is back ordered. Any issue with getting 6i shaft and cutting the extra half inch off? I can fix swing weight but how much is flex affected?

Asked by: John
No you would not be able to do that. .355" taper tip shafts are only .355" at the very tip. They taper out to approximately .370" where the shaft exits the top of the hosel. The hosel bose is also tapered like this. If you tip trim a .355" taper tip shaft it will no longer fit into the hosel. We are showing that they are due in at the end of this week or first of next week.

KBS Tour-V, no flex or weight designation on the label.  1st step dimension is 8", length trimmed to 36.75, weight is 95g.  Need to order a replacement,  What flex should I be ordering ?

Asked by: JBW
On the KBS Tour-V shafts the tip to first step measurement is the same for the R,S & X flex shafts. They change their shaft flexes by shaft weight. With a cut weight of 95 grams I would say this is an R flex. The R flex shaft weights 100 grams. At 36.75" cut length I am assuming this is the shaft from the 5 iron. The raw length 5 iron shaft for the Tour V is the 39" raw length shaft. If I divide 100 grams by 39" and then multiply that number by 36.75" I get just over 94 grams. If I do the same math with the S flex shaft at 110 grams it comes up to 103 grams for the 36.75" shaft. I would say you need the R flex.

I'm trying to identify a replacement shaft for Tour-V. The shaft label does not display a weight or stiffness, simply Tour-V. Is there a 1st step dimension I can use to identify the flex I should order to match what is currently in the set ?

Asked by: JBW
On thing about KBS shafts including the Tour V is that the tip to first step measurements and step measurements are the same for each flex. With the Tour V iron shafts for a 5 iron the tip to first step measurement is 8" whether it is an R, S, or X flex. KBS controls the different flexes with weight change more then anything else. Possibly there is a label on the butt end of the shaft that would tell you the flex.

Do u sell these in a .370 tip

Asked by: Power
No. The KBS Tour V is not manufactured with .370" parallel tip size. You would have to use the .355" taper tip and shim them to fit a .370" hosel bore. We sell brass shims that work very well for doing this. You would use the SHIMT. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

I have a 85-90 swing speed what shafts should I put to irons I have Adams cb3 Forged irons with stiff would like regular

Asked by: jjrod
The stock shaft in the CB3 Forged irons was listed as the KBS Tour 90. If this is the shaft you have in your set and you like it just dropping down to the R flex. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=FS0024 The KBS Tour V is a little bit heavier and designed for mid ball flight compared to the Tour 90 being a mid/high ball flight.
