Maltby LTech Driver Clubhead Specifications

Maltby LTech Drivers is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Crazy simple to hit high and straight Came across Golfworks while shopping for new clubs after blowing out my back last year. My range of motion and swing speed are both pitiful. Was going to try the non-conforming driver but the price on this was a steal. For reference, my previous driver was the Cobra Baffler XL. Took about 4-5 balls only to dial in my swing. This driver is preposterously simple to hit high and straight. Lateral dispersion is minimal even on bad mis-hits, and it's almost impossible to slice. I'll never be able to out-drive the guys I play with, but this club is perfect for a safe, dependable setup to hit a 2nd shot from the fairway. Also, props to Golfworks for using gender-neutral colors and not plastering the word "ladies" all over the club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ltech for ladies? Says seniors too??? Love the 13 degree loft. Has nice flight and easy to hit long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from None Better! I love that this comes in 13* and 15*. It's great for the ladies, but also for a lot of men! Most of my senior men need help getting higher trajectory on their drives, and this club delivers! I'm sure it was originally called LTech referring to ladies, but I call it "Launch Tech." (Now we just need a more masculine headcover option.)

I made a 7 iron with the LTech head and a score LT metal shaft R flex for my husband.  Not realizing it was a woman's iron head. He loves it and now wants a matching driver with a metal shaft.  Can you recommend a metal shaft to use with this driver head?

Asked by: Lynn E
There are only 2 metal (steel) wood shaft left on the market today and both are heavier in weight then the Score LT iron shaft. We have the True Temper Dynamic Gold R300 (UDGW) and the True Temper Command (TT202101). You can see these shafts at these links. http://www.golfworks.com/true-temper-dynamic-gold-steel-wood-shafts/p/UDGW/ http://www.golfworks.ca/true-temper-command-steel-wood-shafts/p/TT202101/ The L Tech line of heads is both for Women's and Senior men. That is why we do not refer to it as a Ladies only head.

Would you be able to whack in a shortened shaft say 37inches without making the lie angle unplayable? Would it be possible or would it end up too flat?

Asked by: Jimboomba
If we reference 44.5" as the standard length and the driver has a 57 degree lie and shortening it down to 37" would effectively change the lie angle from 57 to 42 degrees. As to whether the lie would be unplayable it depends on who is using the driver. Without knowing more about the player who would be using this club it is hard to say how it might fit them. It is certainly possible to cut a shaft that short but there are some other things that come into play such as the butt diameter of the shaft and properly installing a grip. Build up tape would likely be necessary. With a graphite shaft cut to this length the silk screen on the shaft will be, at least to some extent, covered by the grip.

what flex on shaft

Asked by: gill
You could use any shaft that best fits the players need with this clubhead. We offer a club pak with our LTech shaft which is available in 3 different Ladies flexes that works very well with this clubhead. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=PMA0240&green=4EF70C89-182E-5EFB-B1B3-34B789E511ED

Is this driver head on the list of USGA conforming driver heads? My daughter will be using it in the Drive, Chip and Putt contest.

Asked by: Johnny B
Sorry but at this time we have not submitted the LTech driver to the USGA for testing.

Hi, I just bought a Cleveland 588 for my senior slow swing with a 12* loft. I cannot get this airborne at all. I tried my wife's Mello Yellow Bang driver with 18* and have killed every drive about 175 to 200 yards. Would the 15* driver help me as well ?

Asked by: Zachary
Yes, if you are hitting the 18 degree driver much better than the 12 degree driver I would definitely recommend getting a driver head with more loft. The shaft length and flex is also important. If have a local repair shop nearby that can measure the length and flex of the Bang driver, i would have them do so and duplicate the shaft characteristics as closely as possible.

I would like to know if this head has a solid sound on impact.

Asked by: Augie
Yes it does. Compared to todays larger heads I would say the L-Tech is definitely more on the muted side of the scale.
