Maltby Pure-Track PT S2 Putter Head Specifications

Maltby Pure-Track PT S2 Putter is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great putter It is the best putter I have ever had and that has been a lot. The ball goes where I want it to go. I am not happy with the shaft I put into it due to the off set angle but that is my problem. Will most likely change the shaft but in the meantime I am sinking putts from 8=20 feet on a constant basis. Love it.

Is this a face balanced putter head?

Asked by: Eye 4 Golf
Yes the PT-S2 putter will face balance.

Requires a 90 degree double or single bend putter shaft. How does the single bend shaft change the face balance if at all? How does the single bend shaft affect the look and feel of the putter?

Asked by: Lee
The single bend shaft simply creates a 72 degree lie angle, no offset at all. The face would actually be out in front of the shaft. It would not face balance and would be come a toe hang putter.

Based on the reviews, I ordered the Maltby Pure-track PT S2 tonight. In answering another question, if I read it correctly, it was recommended to trim the shaft 3/4". Could you explain why this is recommended? thanks

Asked by: Lee
For the double bend shaft installed into the PT-S2 putter there is no recommended tip trimming. I see the question where it was mentioned to tip trim 3/4" and the only reason I can think that we would have said that is if the customer was adding weight to the head to make it heavier and tip trimming the shaft would keep it from getting to flexible with the increased head weight. Personally I would tell you there should be no reason to tip trim the shaft.

I was wondering if the 59.99 price is just for the head or if a shaft was included? Thanks

Asked by: kramer
MA0255 is the code for the putter head only and yes the price is $59.99. We do offer it assembled for $89.99 and here is the link. http://www.golfworks.com/maltby-pure-track-pt-s2-assembled-putter-special/p/MA0255A/

Can this putter be counterbalanced at 38" and which grip would you recommend in the slim to midsize range?

Asked by: Imtnoff
Yes you could have this putter assembled to 38" and have it counter balanced. I would suggest the Super Stroke Legacy Plus grips at 14" long to work with this putter and length combination. http://www.golfworks.com/super-stroke-legacy-plus-20-xl-putter-grip/p/ST0043/ http://www.golfworks.com/super-stroke-flatso-plus-20-xl-putter-grip/p/ST0045/ http://www.golfworks.com/super-stroke-legacy-plus-30-xl-putter-grip/p/ST0044/

Are the weights movable, so that I can finesse the feel by moving them backwards and forwards on the "wings" or do the screws/bolts go into drilled holes so they have to go in the one spot?

Asked by: DMacNotGMac
No the weights are not designed to be moveable. The screws thread into a drilled hole in a specific spot.

on the dbl bend putter shaft. why is the shaft angled forward and at about 60 degrees from the face of the putter? It makes me feel like I'm hitting down on the putt. If I reverse this angle I tend to roll the putt much better.

Asked by: ozzie626
The bend forward, if I am understanding what your asking, is designed to give the putter offset. Offset is a feature in a putter that helps the user keep the hands forward through the stroke.

Is this the highest MOI putter you offer? I was reading the putter MOI article http://www.golfworks.com/putter-moi/a/169/ and noticed you don't offer those putters anymore but they seem to have double the MOI as this one.

Asked by: Bob
Currently, the PT-S2 putter is the highest MOI putter we have. At the 380 gram head weight, it has a MOI of approx. 30 oz/in2 (over 5500 gr/cm2) If you add the heavier weights, the MOI jumps to over 38 oz/in2 (over 7100 gr/cm2). The Xtreme putters from a few years back did have MOI's over 40 oz/in2. There was one Xtreme, the 07 model, that set the record for MOI at over 90 oz/in2 (over 16000 gr/cm2). It is important to remember that to produce those extremely high MOI's, the size of the putter must be maxed out and the weight must be on the heavier end of the spectrum. They were very successful and we are considering doing another model in the extreme range. The challenge is to do produce a model that is not too expensive. The cost to produce these types of putters has increased substantially so we have to determine if there is a market for these ultra high MOI putters at the cost, and high retail, they would have. Again, we are considering.
