Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges

The Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges are modified version of our best selling Tricept wedges featuring multi-groove technology for improved spin. The groove volume is slightly reduced to allow for 5 additional grooves to be added to the club face. The concept is simple, adding more groove edges while maintaining the same amount of total groove volume will add more friction between the golf ball and club face. In addition to the added CNC milled micro-grooves, the MG Tech wedges also feature laser etched scoring lines added to the club face for additional surface texture.

The MG Tech wedges feature a rolled leading edge and a four way cambered sole to help eliminate fat golf shots. The finish is a durable semi-mirror nickel plating that reduces glare but still has the appearance of a classic mirror-polished wedge.

Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedge Clubhead Specifications

Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Playability I purchased the 52,56,60 Tricept MG Tech to replace my Callaway Jaws CC wedges. These great heads are paired with Mitsubishi Kuro Kage 80 stiff shafts to match the regular flex on my irons. I get more spin along with a 1/2 club more distance. The wedges have wonderful feel and accuracy and by far out play the Callaway set. Due to these attributes I have shaved 3-4 strokes off my score since bagging the Tricept MG Tech Wedges. I am a sweeper and these heads match up for me better then any wedge I have played in the 35 plus years I have played the game. If you are looking for a wonderful feeling, great looking easy to hit wedge look no further.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Look at me I'm spinnin After a serious car wreck I needed all new clubs so i went with Malby irons and new Malbty wedges. I got these in 56 and 60 and put spinner shafts on them and i gotta say the combination rocks! Stop on a dime pitches has really brought my short game to a new level. Quality and price cant be beat with these heads and i recommend them to friends looking for game improvement clubs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great feel and control I Purchased the 52, 56, and 60 Maltby Tricept MG Tech Wedges. I installed "FSB tour 90" shafts on them and am happy with the results. They are great looking wedges that have a nice feel and control. Micro grooves and laser etching on the face create a level of control from all types of lies. I like the trajectory and stopping power of these wedges. My wedge configuration has produced "high end" results at about $60 per club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wedges that rival any out there OK I don't have enough superlatives for these wedges. I would easily compare these to any high end wedge on today' market. These give you the best of both worlds playability and workability. These are accurate and the new grooves provide great spin while still staying within USGA guidelines. You need to give these great looking and playing irons a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Most solid wedge I ever hit. My old Maltby wedges had worn to the point where I couldn't spin the ball any more so I bought these wedge heads to go on my existing steel shafts. I couldn't be happier. They are so solid I have had to learn to soften my swing a little. They look fantastic addressing the ball and bring a new level of confidence. Give them a try.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect sand wedge Simple straight forward assembly. Used a True Temper "Spinner" wedge shaft and a Golf Pride Velvet grip to normal length. Wedge is well balanced. Face is attractive and businesslike, and the club work very well from the bunker or off of the fairway. Good spin and accuracy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Wedge Have tried almost all the latest wedges, but decided to try a custom wedge. Had the loft and lie bent to my specs, threw in a premium graphite shaft (Recoil 660) and, viola, the best wedge I've ever played!

The question on the KBS shaft was for the triceps wedge head. Thanks

Asked by: Jim
These wedges use a .370" tip diameter shaft so any of the KBS shafts offered in a .370" tip size will fit. FS0019, FS0045, FS0024, FS0027 and FS0038 will all fit. All of the KBS Wedges shafts are a .355" taper tip shaft and would need to be shimmed to properly fit the .370" hosel bore of these irons. That could be done using our SHIMT. http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-brass-adaptor-shims/p/SHIM/

After much use, the grooves seem to be losing their "bite". Do you make a tool that I can use to clean up the grooves and re-sharpen the groove edges. I thought I saw something like that several years ago but haven't seen it in quite some time.

Here is the link for the regrooving tool (GW1111) and the replacement blades (GW0108). http://www.golfworks.com/the-golfworks-regrooving-tool/p/GW1111/

Are oversize grips available for triceps mg wedge?

Asked by: neil
MA0213 is the code for just the clubhead. Yes you can order an oversize grip. You would need to order the head, shaft and grip. We do offer this wedge in a Club Pak but the Pak does not come with an oversize grip. http://www.golfworks.com/maltby-tricept-mg-tech-wedge-pak/p/PMA0213/

Yes you can request a loft adjustment when you order the heads. There is an additional charge of $4.95 per club for loft and lie adjustments. Generally we keep loft adjustments to 2 degrees.

I am considering building a highloft wedge for hitting flop shots around the green on my local course. I often find myself in the short rough and in the past have had much success with little flop shots. Is the lower bounce degree what I need?

Asked by: bob isbell
Typically lob wedges are designed with lower bounce angles so that the face can be opened as needed. If you do not manipulate the face angle on your wedge than bounce is not an issue. You might want to read this article on our web site for additional wedge information before selecting a wedge that best fits your game and course conditions. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/MSeriesWedges.pdf
