Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver Wood Shafts

KURO KAGE™ Silver Wood Series will feature the same High Density Prepreg as the original KURO KAGE™ Black profile, but in a profile that has a stiffer tip and mid section, and a softer butt section. The result is a series of shafts that will deliver extreme stability and lower spin than the original KURO KAGE™ Black profile.

Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Shaft Specifications

Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver Wood Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very impressed, especially for mid priced shaft MR's top of the line made in japan shafts are always excellent and do what they say they will. I was a bit leary about buying one of their mid priced, not made in japan shafts but the price was too good. Put the 70+gm X-stiff in Bridgestone j40 430 driver head. The club is a sniper rifle, shaft is solid as a rock but still retains some feel which is impressive. I can take a full rip and not worry about the shaft twisting. Very impressed I hear the new tini one is even better.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft I put the shaft on my 14 yr old daughters Taylormade Aero burner and she loves it. It added more distance compare to her cobra driver and more roll. She hits the ball high and we had to tee the ball lower .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very stable performance. Have been playing this in my driver (M1) for about a month. Improved trajectory and dispersion pattern. Does not improve my mechanics on "off days" however. Just confirms I suck that day.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shaft and super prompt on delivery I received the shaft 2 weeks ago and it is working great. Would recommend Golf Works to meet your golf needs.

I have a Kuro Kage silver Tini 70gm in my Nike Covert Tour 2.0 (3) wood.Love the shaft balance w a moderate to aggressive move on the ball. Want to replace my Tour 65S in my Ping G30 LS (feels unbalanced). Should I just put a KK silver 70 in the Ping G30?

Asked by: FrankMaio
You certainly could put the KK Silver 70 in the Ping G30. It could work well especially for someone who makes a little more aggressive move through the ball.

Is this the same stock graphite shaft offered by titleist on their 716 AP1 irons? If yes how do I purchase the shaft for my Taylor made RS-1 4 and 5 irons. I thinking of buy the shaft as is and have the PGA super store re-shaft it.

Asked by: Butch
No we do not have the Mitsubishi shaft that comes in the Titleist 716 AP1 irons. That shaft is made only for Titleist. The Mitsubishi iron shafts that we have that would be the closest to the Titleist shaft and fit the Taylor Made RSi irons is the MR0066 or MR0046 and both of these are 70 gram weight shaft where the Titleist shafts are in the mid 60 gram weight range. http://www.golfworks.com/mitsubishi-kuro-kage-graphite-iron-shafts/p/MR0066/ http://www.golfworks.com/search.asp?ss=mr0046

I was wondering if I could use this shaft on an M2 drive? It was a gift and came with the stock shaft (fujikura pro 60 stiff) on it now. I´m 6" ft Tall and weight 216 pds, swing speed 105 mph, it has extra charge to prepare it to fit in to de M2 driver?

Asked by: Gilbertgd75
Yes the Kuro Kage Silver shaft can be installed into the M2 driver. You can purchase a new Taylor Made Shaft adapter (TM0023) or you would have to have the existing shaft adapter removed and install the shaft into it. There are additional charges for preparing the shaft and installing it into the shaft adapter. The shaft prep charges are listed at this link. It is a $10.00 charge to install the shaft into the shaft adapter. http://www.golfworks.com/mitsubishi-rayon-kuro-kage-silver-wood-shafts/p/MR0036/ You can always contact our Customer Service Department at 1-800-848-8358 and they will be glad to help you with all this information.

Are the Kuro Kage Silver and Grafalloy Prolaunch Red similar shafts with respect to trajectory, flexibility (Stiff vs. Regular)? Have a Callaway Bertha 1.5 Mini Driver with a Bassara e54 stiff shaft that I hit straight set at 12-Draw, but too high.

Asked by: Rocky
I have not hit the Kuro Kage Silver shaft to know for sure how it's ball flight would compare to the ProLaunch Red. Our shaft test data shows the ProLaunch Red being stiffer in the mid and lower parts of the shaft then the Kuro Kage Silver. This should create a lower ball flight for the ProLaunch Red.

Would the Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Silver Wood Shaft do well with a Ping G20 head. Need a re-shaft due to a fit of rage. Do you have any other suggestion?

Asked by: Probie
The Ping G20 driver used a .350" tip diameter shaft. In order to install the Kuro Kage Silver (MR0036) or any other .335" tip diameter shaft you will need to use the BB9048 Ping Adapter and order the .335" size. The Kuro Kage Silver can match well with the G20 as long as it's playing characteristics fit your needs. Another shaft that could match well would be the Graphite Design YS6+ (YS633WPL). http://www.golfworks.com/graphite-design-ys-6-graphite-wood-shaft/p/YS633WPL/ http://www.golfworks.com/ping-i20-and-g-series-shaft-adaptors/p/BB9048/

I was wondering if I could use this shaft on an M1 3-wood? It was a gift and came with the stock shaft on it now. I currently use this shaft on my M1 Driver.

Asked by: Anthony
Yes this shaft will fit the M1 3 wood and could work well, especially knowing that it works well for you in your driver.

I am currently hitting the grafalloy bimatrix tour prototype s flex in my xr driver. I am looking for a shaft that is just as stiff but with less weight in the tip. Will the 70x flex do this for me or should I stick with the s flex? 110 swing speed here.

Asked by: Lynch_13
Neither the Kuro Kage Silver 70 S or X flex are as stiff in the tip as the Bi-Matrix. The X flex is a little stiffer in the top and middle part of the shaft but not as stiff in the tip. The shafts that best match the tip stiffness of the Bi- Matrix are the original Grafalloy ProLite 35 (TT202211) and the Xcaliber Pro T6+ (AS0044). Both the ProLite 35 and Xcaliber shafts were designed by the same person. The Xcaliber Pro T7.5 (AS0045) actually has a stiffer tip section then the Bi-Matrix.

I have a Kuro Kage silver 60 stiff set up as a driver shaft right now, but am wondering if I can play this in my 5 wood at around 42".  How much tip trimming would be needed?  If I am looking at the correct charts it's saying 3"??  Is that right?

Asked by: Nick
The shaft trim code for the MR0036 Kuro Kage Silver 60 shaft is W8 which says to tip trim 3/4" for installation into a 5 wood. You can see the trim chart by scrolling down the page to Wood Trim Chart at this link. http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/shaft_trim_inst.pdf
