68 years........6 iron goes 150 Playing Nike Covert Forged 2.0 with stock regular 950GH. Thinking of installing 8950GH senior shaft . Would like to not work quite as hard. Will changing to the 8950GH SENIOR make a difference ?

Asked by: georgie boy
The flex change should help. The 8950GH plays more flexible then the 950GH even in the same flex.

I currently play the Callaway Apex CG16 irons with project X 4.5 graphite shafts. Would the new Nippon 7 series be a better fit to keep the clubs light than the Nippon Pro 8950 Steel?? Which would you recommend for better dispersion and distance.

Asked by: suzieq
From the specifications I see on the Project X 4.5 graphite iron shafts they are listed as 91 gram weight shaft and they are designed to produce a low ball flight. The Nippon Zelos 7 would definitely be a lighter weight shaft but the 8950GH would actually be similar in weight. I would expect the Zelos 7 shafts to play a little more flexible then the 8950GH in the same flex and the 8950GH R flex will probably be a little closer in flex to the Project X 4.5. The information I have lists the Apex CF16 irons as using a .370" tip diameter shaft.
