Ping ID-8 Golf Grip Specifications

Ping ID-8 Golf Grip is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic Grips These grips are absolutely amazing! Texture-wise they're about halfway between an aggressive cord grip or GP Decade and a Tour Velvet. They have a rib which is nice to slot in your fingers. Love that they come in different sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ping grip I bought an old g10 4 wood head, had an old graphite shaft pulled, and was looking for a nice, inexpensive grip to finish the club. This grip has more than met my needs. Feels good in hand, I like the decals/design, right amount of tackiness for my game. Nice grip

Is there a sizing chart to determine if I could benefit from a oversize grip? I am playing standard grips today.

Asked by: Mitch
We find that the grip sizing charts do not work for checking the correct grip size. If you grip one of your current clubs and then remove your lower hand and look at the top hand grip. If your middle 2 fingers are just touching the pad of your hand and the grip pressure is comfortable the grip size would be correct. If your fingers are digging into your palm the grip size is to small and if there is a gap between your fingers and palm the grip size is to large. Most golf retailers will have grip sizing samples in their stores. It could be a good idea to stop into a store and have your grip size checked.

I have standard g-25 woods, I want to re grip to ping 360 id8 (Gold + 1/32) do I need to know the shaft diameter, do you know what the shaft diameter would be?

Asked by: golf freek
The shaft butt diameter on the G25 was listed at .600". You would have no problem installing the Golf Ping grips on the Ping shafts.

What role does core size(.580, .600) play in regripping?

Asked by: ParTee2016
The core size is designed to match up to shaft diameter size. A .580" core size grip installed on a .580" butt diameter shaft or a .600" core size grip installed on a .600" butt diameter shaft will create a standard size grip which measures .900" at 2" down from the top edge of the grip cap. If you install the .580" core size grip onto a .600" butt diameter shaft you will get a finished grip size of + 1/64" or .915" at 2" down from the top edge of the cap. The .580" and .600" core size grips have the same outside diameter. The .580" core size is a smaller inside diameter so it has thicker walls then the .600" core size. The .580" core size will usually weight about 2 grams more because of this.

First time for me re-gripping.  I want to re-grip my Ping G5 woods and Ping i3 irons.  Would this grip work? I want to use oversize.  Will the core .600" be the same for the oversize grip. Is the core size the same for both irons and woods?

Asked by: Ken R
Yes these grips can work fine on your G5 woods and I3 irons. You would use the same core size for both woods and irons. The core size is the same for the oversize grip. The grip walls are thicker in the oversize grip to create the larger diameter.

What grip size do I need on my i25 irons?

Asked by: Chad
The stock Ping shafts were a .600" butt diameter for the I25 irons. If you want a standard size grip you would use the .600" core size grip, which this model is, and you would use the grip that says Standard. You can read the information at this link to help determine if you may need an oversize grip. http://www.golfworks.com/article.asp_Q_ai_E_483
