KBS Tour V Steel Iron Shafts

The KBS TOUR V shaft is a slightly modified version of the the popular KBS Tour shafts. The KBS Tour V shafts are lighter than the original KBS Tour shafts and also feature a larger tube diameter to produce a mid level launch angle with lower spin for a significantly tighter shot dispersion.

  • Delivers a medium trajectory, low spinning golf shot with a smooth all-around feel
  • Maximizes energy transfer for smooth feel and faster ball speeds
  • Available in 3 flexes from 100grams to 120grams

KBS Tour V Shaft Specs

KBS Tour V Steel Iron Shafts is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Changed balance point compared to Dynamic Gold I replaced a True Temper Dynamic Gold Sensicore R300 with the KBS Tour V Stiff shaft in my 8 iron as a test, as recommended by the KBS website shaft selector. It weighs 110g vs. 127g for DG. The butt end has noticeably less taper than the DG so the grip feels a little larger in my rt hand (ri handed). The weight distribution has help me put less tension and effort into initiating my down swing and develop a better feel for lag. It has also helped me with my other irons that still have DG shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Superb As an older person I have been down the blind alley of trying lighter weigh, softer flex shafts and have done a U turn, With the Tour V in X flex. What a great shaft, no boardy feel, in fact very smooth and consistent, ball goes where you aim. Shafts have a distinct spine on my aligner and recommend this be done for proper installation. I was huge fan of the Rifle shafts some years ago. Looks like Kim Braly has done it again

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too stiff Ordered a 7 and 3 iron shafts for my taper tip RSI tours to see if these would be better than C taper lites that go nowhere for me. Mistake!! 7 iron felt good and I hit it a bit further but the 3 iron felt like a pole and trajectory was to low. Having a lot of trouble finding a KBS shaft that will work for me!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tour V Shafts Wow! I have used True Temper, ProjectX and now the KBS Tour V. These shafts feel incredible and have a nice mid ball flight. The distance is about the same as the other shafts but these feel much smoother. I would highly recommend trying these shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mr. I ordered the KBS Tour V in my Cobra Bio-Cell Plus irons and they are the best combination for feel, consistency, and distance that I have ever had. TM numbers don't lie!

are kbs tour v parallel or taper tip

Asked by: micheal
KBS Tour V shafts are only manufactured in a .355" taper tip.

The tour v stiff shaft at standard length feels perfect. However, I need +1" on length. Will this increase make the club feel too different (heavy)? In that event, should I order the R+ shaft (slightly lighter) to compensate.?

Asked by: Any1
Assembling these irons to + 1" will make them 6 swingweights heavier then they are now. It will also make the shafts play about half a flex more flexible. To maintain the flex you would need to order a stiffer shaft. A 9 gram change of shaft weight is equal to 1 swingweight. If the shaft gets lighter by 9 grams it gets 1 swingweight lighter and if it gets heavier by 9 grams it gets 1 swingweight heavier. The Tour V shafts are only made in R,S,X flexes.

How do I know which shaft is good for me ? I am 60yrs and play off an 9handicapp

Asked by: toms
I would suggest going through our Maltby Shaft Playability Factor. You will answer 4 questions and it will give you a 4 digit code that you can use to help narrow down your shaft selections. Having just your age and handicap does not really give us information to help make a shaft selection for you. We would need to know more about your game such as the answers to the questions at the link above, what shafts you are currently playing and what you would like the new shafts to improve over the existing shafts.

Using C Taper Lite stiff in my RSI TP's but not getting any distance out of them because they seem to be spinning to much. Would the Tour V be a good option to replace the C taper lites to increase distance??

Asked by: Hackpro
The information from KBS does say the Tour V is for players that prefer a lightweight shaft that produces less spin. It is only a few grams lighter than the C Taper light, so the weight differnce will probably not be noticeable. Without a big weight difference, a reduction in spin would be the only factor that could possibly improve your distance. The ony other ways to possibly increase distance in irons is to go lighter weight, longer in playing length and/or decrease lofts. If these are not reasonable options for you, then trying the Tour V would appear to be worth a try.

I am looking for a replacement shaft. I need a Tour V 90 for an 8 iron. but I don't see it listed here. Do you have it or can you get it for me.

Asked by: JLev43
The Tour V 90 is not a stock KBS offering. It is a shaft they manufacture for a given club manufacture. To get this shaft you would have to send the club back to the club manufacture. The Tour V (FS0036) or the Tour 90 (FS0024) could probably be a good replacement. The Tour V is only available in a .355" taper tip so you would need to know if your irons use a .355" taper tip or .370" parallel tip. We do have that information at this link on our web site.

Looking to order KBS tour plus 1/2 or 3/4 for my 5-PW, how would I go about this? I'm assuming my local golf shop can assemble?

Asked by: MattMc
If you or ordering the shafts to be assembled where you are, you can simply order the shafts and have the assembler build them to your specific length. For the KBS Tour Taper Tip, you simply order the 5 - PW shaft. They are installed with no tip trimming and then cut to final playing length from the butt end. If you order the parallel .370 tip shafts, they come in a 43.5" blank that is tip cut for each particular club for flex, then after installation, cut to final playing length from the butt. The trimming instructions are in our catalog and on our website.

I have been measured at 1 inch long and a 2 degree upright lie. I want to order kbs pro v stiff irons. Can I order shafts to my length (i.e. 3 iron 39 1/2) or do these shafts need to be tip trimmed to get to a 5.5 and should I order a 40.5

Asked by: putter1
When you order the shafts from us you can request to have the shaft prepped so that you would just install them and they would come out to the finished length you want for you 3 iron. There is an additional charge for this service and we will need to know which irons you have, manufacture and model. The KBS Tour V shafts are .355" taper tip only and they cannot be tip trimmed to alter the flex. The 40" raw length shaft is actually the 3 iron shaft. At 1" longer you may want to start with the 39.5" raw length shaft to maintain the flex of the shaft. This is dependent on what the swingweight will be at your finished length. If we assume D2 as a normal swingweight every 1 swingweight that these clubs get heavier then D2 will soften the shaft flex by 1 cycle in a frequency machine. Shaft flex is determined by how long or short you cut the shaft and how much clubhead weight is on the end of the shaft.
