The GolfWorks Golf Grip Tape Stripper
This handy tool saves you time and energy when stripping grip tape off a club. The cutting end is curved to fit the shaft, cleanly stripping tape from graphite or steel shafts in just a few strokes. Ball handle for comfort. The Tape Stripper's specially designed blade can be resharpened.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't live up to claims This tool is better than nothing, but it's not that great a time-saver nor energy-saver (I was still plenty sweaty after using it). It in no way makes the job easy or quick; but as I said, it's better than nothing. Or is it? The tool often scratched the graphite shafts and sometimes even caused splintering! As for the other reviewer who said it keeps your hands from getting injured, think again. The tool easily slips off the shaft, and I cut my knuckles twice before I finally got the hint to put on some medium-duty workgloves to protect myself (and would have cut myself a third time had I not been wearing gloves). Ultimately, it was a combination of sandpaper, Goo Gone, and lots of elbow grease that got the old tape removed. This tool only gets the big stuff off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome tool! Been using this too for a few years, and regardless of what some may say it's far better than a torch, heat gun, or other means that some may tout. As for the reviewer that said it destroyed graphite shafts ...... that's just poor usage of the tool. I've used this tool on graphite shafts dozens of times and if used with care and proper technique the results are great and there is no damage. BUY THIS TOOL.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Nothing like the older models We had perhaps one of the first models for years, it was finally time to replace it. This model is nothing like the older model. This slips off steel shafts very easily, cuts into graphite shafts, it only cuts a slit in the tape. I would not recommend this tape remover.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Tool Removes Tape Quickly This tool is a must have for the novice looking to attempt regripping their clubs for the first time . It makes the job of removing old grip tape easy and quick and keeps your hands away from getting injured. I did use a heat gun as well to aid in faster removal.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not stable I have another tape removal tool and had it borrowed, so I wanted to try this one. It slips off the shaft easily so I wasn't really impressed. I will go back to my old tool.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Golf Grip Tape Stripper I've only used it once and the jury's still out. Used on one club so I'm still trying to figure out what is best technique for using it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Golf tape stripper It works ok, but the blade is very soft and once it gets dented its useless, like mine is now.

I use a heat gun to soften old grip tape. Makes it easy to remove. Would this tool work more effectively after heating the old tape?

Asked by: JoefromVa
Yes, the GW1101 will work better if the old tape is heated. We recommend you heat the tape to soften.

Can this tool be sharpened?

Asked by: Sanderling
Yes it can be resharpened. I have sharpened them by sanding them on a belt sander, which is how we do them initially when we build them.
