Maltby MMB-17 Forged Iron Heads is rated 4.8333 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clubs but maybe a slight adjustment Great clubs, have had these fitted with KBS Tour and they are great. If I ever where to advice a change to this clubhead it would be to make the top line the same as the TE`s and the same with the offset. That would make it look even more like a real players club and probably still keep most of it MPF points..? A great iron for most golfers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very live I had to wait for these but I am glad I did. Initially I did not like them, but after getting the lie set correctly I am hitting them straight and consistently getting 5-10 extra yards throughout the set. Mis-hits do not penalize me any more than my previous clubs, and a hit in the center of the face feels effortless. I love the clean lines of this club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Heads feel great, nice soft feeling at impact. I'm able to work the ball both ways consistently and they are nice and forgiving. The weight relief in the long irons helps get the ball up in the air nicely. Even on off center hits, I dont feel like I'm losing a tremendous amount of distance. Awesome clubs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons Great Iron. Got them with the TT Dynamic Gold shaft in 7-GW paired with 4-6 TE irons. Top lines are little different, but swing weight, lofts and feel matches perfectly. Was looking for a progressive set and built my own. Soft feel, consistent yardages - great clubs - very, very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything the DMB and TE irons aren't! I have played other TE Maltby irons but sold those as they were just too numb feeling - impossible to tell where on the clubface I hit it. Sure, incredibly forgiving, but didn't help my game. These MMB 17s don't have that problem - they give you JUST enough feedback that you can adjust your swing, but yet they are super forgiving. My only wish is that they were also offered in the black color of the DMBs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best iron that I have ever played I just bought an extra set because they very foolishly are going to stop production of these heads. You can spend 3 times the money for a set of forged heads but you can't get anything better.

Just picked up a set of mmb's at a local shop. SWEET playing clubs!! What if any difference is there between the mmb's and these mmb-17??? Thanks

Asked by: Hambone68
The MMB had a traditional number of grooves and groove pattern. The MMB-17 we went to the multi groove pattern, adding more grooves. The 6 iron on the MMB-17 actually has 17 grooves. That is where the name comes from.

Is it possible to have a 2 iron made for this set??

Asked by: lotsahooks
No, we never manufactured a 2 iron with this set of irons. Just not enough demand to justify the cost of manufacturing.

is there a 4 iron available for the MMB-17? In the specification chart, a 4 iron is shown, but there is not a 4 iron available in the 'shipping cart' area... 'just 3, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, P, and G

Asked by: ColoKen
Currently, we do not have individual #4 irons available. However, we do have sets available (MA0228S) in the 3-PW, or the 4-GW. We will be opening up the model to sell individual heads again later in the year, but for now if you want a complete set with a #4 iron, you need to use the MA00228S code and select the set make up you prefer. If you want the 3-PW and also want the GW, you can order the 3-PW in the MA00228S for the 3-PW and then order the GW individually using code MA0228. We have GW's in stock to sell individually, but no #4 irons currently to sell individually.

I read that this product is being discontinued, will there be any sales on this or the associated Golf Paks?

Asked by: kiwirst
The MMB-17 irons are not going to be discontinued. We have decided to continue t carry them through 2016. The demand is high and the feedback has been really positive. In our opinion, the MMB-17, along with the DBM and the TE irons, are the most playable "blade" type irons on the market. We do currently have the heads on sale for a set of 8 (3-PW or 4-GW) for $199.92, which is a savings of of over $64.00 from the original catalog price. We do not have any sales for these planned in association with a PAK.

I am a 10 handicap 78 year old golfer with a set of these irons that I built. What swing weight should they be? Thanks

Asked by: Preston
The swingweight is dependent on not only the head weight, but the shaft weight, the club length and the grip weight. Without knowing the shaft weight, the playing length, or the grip weight, we can not estimate what the final swing weight will be.

I am curious about the MMB irons. Will you all have full sets available anytime? I may be interested in a full set. Thanks, Chris

Asked by: cjunium
We have the MMB 17 irons currently available (MA0226S) in sets 3-PW or 4-GW. We will have individual heads available in a few months, but for now they are only available in the 3-PW or 4-GW sets.
