Maltby MMB-17 Forged Iron Heads is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great clubs but maybe a slight adjustment Great clubs, have had these fitted with KBS Tour and they are great. If I ever where to advice a change to this clubhead it would be to make the top line the same as the TE`s and the same with the offset. That would make it look even more like a real players club and probably still keep most of it MPF points..? A great iron for most golfers

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very live I had to wait for these but I am glad I did. Initially I did not like them, but after getting the lie set correctly I am hitting them straight and consistently getting 5-10 extra yards throughout the set. Mis-hits do not penalize me any more than my previous clubs, and a hit in the center of the face feels effortless. I love the clean lines of this club.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent product Heads feel great, nice soft feeling at impact. I'm able to work the ball both ways consistently and they are nice and forgiving. The weight relief in the long irons helps get the ball up in the air nicely. Even on off center hits, I dont feel like I'm losing a tremendous amount of distance. Awesome clubs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Irons Great Iron. Got them with the TT Dynamic Gold shaft in 7-GW paired with 4-6 TE irons. Top lines are little different, but swing weight, lofts and feel matches perfectly. Was looking for a progressive set and built my own. Soft feel, consistent yardages - great clubs - very, very happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best iron that I have ever played I just bought an extra set because they very foolishly are going to stop production of these heads. You can spend 3 times the money for a set of forged heads but you can't get anything better.

I am a 10 handicap 78 year old golfer with a set of these irons that I built. What swing weight should they be? Thanks

Asked by: Preston
The swingweight is dependent on not only the head weight, but the shaft weight, the club length and the grip weight. Without knowing the shaft weight, the playing length, or the grip weight, we can not estimate what the final swing weight will be.

I am curious about the MMB irons. Will you all have full sets available anytime? I may be interested in a full set. Thanks, Chris

Asked by: cjunium
We have the MMB 17 irons currently available (MA0226S) in sets 3-PW or 4-GW. We will have individual heads available in a few months, but for now they are only available in the 3-PW or 4-GW sets.

is the 4 iron head not available in this set?

Asked by: gaggbob
We do not have any 4 irons for the MMB-17's at this time. The MMB-17's are being discontinued but we have ordered some 4 irons to balance out the set inventory. Unfortunately we are not scheduled to have them until sometime in September. At that time we will likely package the remaining heads into sets and sell them as sets only. If there happens to be any extra's we would then sell those individually.

Because the MMB-17 is listed as a discontinued model, will there be a similar styled head offered in the near future?

Asked by: PaulK
No at this time there are no plans on replacing the MMB-17 with a similar model.

Are these clubs conforming to the usga groove rule? I would love to put these great looking heads into play for some minitour events in the midwest.?

Asked by: illgetuonce
So what he is saying is that they are not conforming since they are not listed in the USGA database as such. It's possible you'd go to a tournament and they would do the search and not find any Maltby products. They have to be sent and approved!

How bendable are these Club heads. Need them about a degree and on-half up and want to bend them about one to two degrees stronger? So plenty of bending. Bought some from you supposed bendable and they kept breaking every time.

Asked by: Dakota Larry
The MMB-17 iron heads can easily be bent +/-2 degrees for both loft and lie.

The site does not list the #7 and #4 irons. ?Are these available?

Asked by: Buckeye in MI
The MMB-17 is a discontinued model and we no longer have #4 or #7 irons left to be sold as individual iron heads. We do have complete sets on sale for $64 under retail. There are two 8 piece set options available, #3-PW or #4-PW & GW. The sets can be found here:
