Will this work with the R9 Super Tri?

Asked by: JDD66
There was a special adaptor for the Super Tri and Super Deep Taylor Made drivers. We no longer stock this adaptor but we can special order one for you. You would need to contact customer service at 1-800-848-8358 and they will be able to help you. This is the link for the adaptor you need.

I have Taylormade Rescue 3 19 degree and 5 23 degrees and on the face it is written FCT. can you please guide me which adapter will fit into these heads. I bought earlier 4 adapters none of them fits. These heads have already installed screw in them

Asked by: Lodhi
We no longer have an adaptor sleeve that fits the Taylor Made R1 FCT Rescue and in checking with Taylor Made they no longer manufacturing them. None of the other Taylor Made adaptors that we have will fit the R11 FCT Rescue.

Will this sleeve fit and original R9 (430cc)?driver, and make the secure click noise that the stock adapter makes? I have used other OEM shaft adapters?and they don't click using the torque wrench and screw strips on impact of the first or second drive.?

Asked by: JMcPhail31

Is there any 'special' way to insert a new shaft into the adaptor sleeve on a driver? Writing on the shaft to the front, back, side, or lined up with the STD LOFT indicator? Thanks.

Asked by: dougie
You do need to align the shaft for the correct setting that you will be using when the adaptor is installed into the clubhead but other then that where you align the graphics on the shaft is up to you. If you had the shaft Pured it could cause you to install the shaft with the graphics in a specific position. Shafts do not come Pured from the shaft manufacture.

Is tipping the shaft necessary when using the adaptor to keep to manufacturers flex specs ?If so, how much tipping. ?Most shaft manufacturers don't recommend trimming anything on driver shafts. ?I heard Taylormade tips their shafts 1" prior to installing.

Asked by: Rikster
I don't know of any aftermarket driver shafts that require tip trimming for an adaptor or normal head install. I am not certain how TaylorMade assembles their clubs but 1" sounds excessive. There isn't a 1" difference from a standard driver bottom of bore to ground distance vs a driver with an adaptor.

I need an adapter for a Taylormade R9 Supertri Driver with the stock Motore 60 Fujikura shaft. Which adapter must i buy?

Asked by: alanish
The R9 Supertri required a special adapter. The newer Taylor Made adapters will not fit this driver. We do have a couple of the Supertri adapters in .350" left in stock. The .335" tip diameter Motore would have to be shimmed to fit this adaptor using a SHIM15.
