UST Mamiya Recoil 110 Taper Iron Shafts

Finally, a revolutionary technology that will change how you think about iron shafts. UST Mamiya’s new recoil iron shafts are a game changer. In the past, heavy weight graphite iron shafts felt dead and stiff. With UST Mamiya’s exclusive recoil™ technology, we have brought feel back into the shaft, while allowing players to hit a wide range of shots that result in better distance control and pin seeking accuracy.

By positioning over 19 different layers within the shaft, we were able to create a design that outperforms the best steel shafts in the market.

  • Mid-weight option in a .355 taper tip design.
  • Designed for more efficient loading and unloading on partial and full shots, providing better distance and trajectory control.
  • Recoil™ 110 produces a medium to lower shot trajectory.

I want to reshaft my mizuno mp64 iron heads with recoil 110 F4 shafts. I play 37 inch lenght on 6 iron and my swing weight is D2. Can you tell me if you can prepare shafts in order that I can install them myself with no drop in my swing weight?

    Asked by: Edward
It is hard to say for sure if the swingweight would come out the same. The 37" is 1/4" shorter then what Mizuno lists as a standard length. That will lighten the club by 2 swingweights. If these clubs came directly from Mizuno and they were assembled using heavier then normal clubhead weights then you have a good chance of maintaining the same swingweight at your 37" finished length for the 6 irons, assuming you are using the same model and weight of grips that are currently installed. If these lengths were altered and someone added weight to the clubheads to get the swingweight up to D2 then is would have to be done again to get the D2 swingweight with the Recoil shafts. The other possibility is that the grips were changed to a lighter weight grip that would bring the swingweight up to D2. If this was done and the same grips were used with the Recoil shafts then the D2 swingweight should work out. When I run a swingweight calculation using the Recoil 110 shaft at 37.25" for the 6 iron with a clubhead weight of 261 grams, a normal 6 iron clubhead weight, and a 50 gram grip the swingweight works out to approximately C9. We can do the prep work on the shafts but without knowing more information we cannot promise that the swingweights will stay D2.
