Looking for replacement ?grip for my Taylor Made Burner 3 wood with a bubble 2 shaft. ?Which one do I need??

    Asked by: Marty T
The Bubble shaft is actually a .810" butt diameter and takes a special grip. We do have a Tacki-Mac replacement grip for the Taylor Made Bubble shaft. You will need to call Customer Service at 1-800-848-8358 and they will be able to help you. The order code is AV0019DK.

I need a replacement grip for my tailor-made driver burner 9.5 reax 4.8 flex s which grip will fit the .600 or .620

    Asked by: bongo
I do not have any specific information on the butt diameter for the REAX 4.8 shaft but I do have a listing for the Burner driver with a REAX 50 shaft that is listed as a .620" butt diameter. The core size for grips is marked on the inside bottom edge of the grip. Many times you can roll back the bottom edge and read the number. It will be 60 or 62. 60 being the .600" and 62 being the .620". Checking this will tell you for sure which core size grip they used.

I have a TaylorMade 2007 Burner Fairway 3 Wood 15* TM Reax Superfast 50 Regular RH. Would the .600 or .620 fit it. I'm looking for a standard grip. Thank you.

    Asked by: zapper
The .620" should be the right core diamter for the Superfast 50 Regular.

What does the .600 and .620 mean, or how do you determine which one?

    Asked by: Digger
The .600" and .620" represent the size of the hole on the inside of the grip (core size) and are designed to match up the the butt diameter of the shaft. .600" core size on a .600" butt diameter shaft and the .620" core size on a .620" butt diameter shaft. The Burner Superfast used a .620" butt diameter shaft in the M,R,S,X flexes and a.600" butt diameter on the L flex. The Burner Superfast 2.0 TP used a .600" butt diameter shaft. If you install the .620" core size grip on the .600" butt diameter shaft you would have an undersize grip or smaller diameter grip. It would be 1/64" smaller.

I have a older burner 3 wood that has a tapered shaft. It tapers larger toward the butt. A standard grip won't fit over the tapered end. Is there a special grip for this club?

    Asked by: JVSO
Without knowing the exact model it is difficult to know exactly what shaft was in it, but Taylor Made did have a large diamter butt shaft (the bubble shaft) tha had an outside diamter of approximate .810". If that is it, we have no grips that will fit. You can go online and search for grips for the Bubble shaft and you may be able to find someone that still has an option that will fit.

could I use these grips on older burner bubble irons

    Asked by: morgan
No this grip will not fit over the Bubble shafts. The Bubble shafts measured .810" at the butt end of the shaft and used a special grip that is no longer made. This particular Taylor Made grip was manufactured by Winn for Taylor Made and Winn never made a grip for the Taylor Made Bubble shaft. You would have to use a norm rubber type of grip on the Bubble shaft and even those are very difficult to install and will end up being larger then a standard size. You would need the Big Butt Grip Installer Tool for installing grips on the Bubble shafts. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=BBGIT

Why .620 core vs .600 core ?on the Taylormade Burner Superfast?

    Asked by: Clyde
Taylor Made used a .620" butt diameter shaft in the Burner Superfast driver with the Matrix Xcon 4.8 shaft. They used a .600" butt diameter shaft in the Burner Superfast TP driver with the Matrix Xcon 5 R flex and .615" butt diameter shaft in the TP with the Matrix HD6 graphite shaft. The different core size grips are used to match up with the butt diameter as best they can.
