XTREME MOMENT PUTTERSPutting has been described as an exercise in near misses — in the past, great putts have only come to those who have worked long and hard to develop a virtually perfect stroke. Ralph Maltby has spent thousands of hours studying the putt and putter construction, looking for a way to design a head that would let a golfer with a less-than-perfect stroke putt confidently and with good success. Xtreme Moment putters are the latest products of that research. The results are truly remarkable. We now have putters that will sink a 20-foot putt with a hit as much as 1" off center (ball contact that varies as much as 2" over the face from side to side)! Xtreme Moment putters were designed for the highest moment of inertia, the physical property that causes an object to resist twisting when struck off-center. We start with a strong aluminum body that is lightweight, so the designer can place mass where it is of the greatest benefit. Then, precisely milled tungsten cylinders are used to bring the head up to the proper weight. These very dense weights are located to maximize the moment of inertia, resulting in an almost uncanny resistance to off-center hits. The two styles are available in both 340 and 360 gram weights so the clubmaker can fit to putter lengths from 31" to 35". A new addition to the incredibly successful Xtreme Moment putter line is the 01 CS, a center shafted version that offers one of the highest moment of inertia readings available (45.0039 oz in2). It is available in two versions: 360 and 400 grams. The 360 gram version provides excellent head feel at the longer lengths of belly putters and the shorter lengths of 32" to 33" for conventional putters. The 400 gram version is designed for longer belly putters and long putters, as well as 30" to 31" conventional putters. 4 degrees of loft, proven in tests to be the optimum loft for putters, is the standard loft for all of the Xtreme models. We added unique alignment aids to take the guesswork out of lining up a putt. The mallet style has a large, bright white aid that is particularly easy to putt with. These are putters everyone should try. A couple of dozen I purchased (do not tell my wife) others were loaned to see if I liked them. The center shafted Xtreme Moment putter is the absolute best. It beats a couple of high dollar Scotty Cameron putters by a mile. Conservately it has taken 6-9 strokes off my game. I am not long off the tee but get picked for Captain's Choice tournaments for my putting. The shaft is a 33" iron (not putter shaft and the grip is a mid size Winn. MOST SADLY, this model has been DISCONTINUED. I hunt on eBay for a backup but no luck so far. And, during tournaments I have been offered 3 to 6 times what I paid for this model.
