Aldila NV Graphite Wood Shaft

The Aldila NV graphite wood shaft provides the player with very uniform feel and consistent performance due to its constant taper wall thickness design.

  • .335" and .350" tip diameters available
  • Constant taper design to eliminate "dead spots" or inconsistent flex zones
  • Unmatched consistency throughout the NV line, regardless the shaft weight
  • Available in 55, 65, 75 or 85 Series

Trimming Instructions

Aldila NV Graphite Wood Shaft is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smoooooth!!! This is one smooth shaft. I purchased the 65X .335 for my Supertri a while back as the stock shaft felt like a wet noodle. I have a high swing speed coupled with a quick transition which really loads this shaft up well. It's just so responsive, that I can feel the clubheads presence throughout the swing. Nice medium to low launch and the ball just soars on a smooth arc with excellent roll out. I have since pulled the tour issue Project X out my Titleist 910D3 are re-tipped this shaft to fit. With all of the new models (shafts) that have been released, it's easy to see why Aldila hasn't discontinued this classic! Definitely one of the "best bang for your buck" shafts on the market!

bit confusing ,can I use Aldila NV graphite shaft in a Ping i20 3 Wood , i have the i20 hybrids as well and even though your chart says 355 tip the NV hybrid shafts went straight in , saying that they are 370, can you help please.

Asked by: Mike k
Just spoke with Ping again to verify this information and they tell me that the I20 and all Ping Hybrids have been .355" taper tip. We have seen some of their hosel bores run to the large size before and that maybe what you have here or if had been previously reshafted they may have enlarged the bore to accept a .370" shaft.

I have an older ADAMS Tight Lies 2 Spin Control 16 degree strong 4 wood that I want to replace the graphite shaft with an Aldila NV 65-S shaft. What tip size should I order, 335 or 350?

Asked by: Chris58
The Tight Lies 2 Spin Control used a .350" tip diameter shaft.

is sflex for slower swing speeds

Asked by: valckar
S flex is for faster swingspeeds in the 93 to 107 mph range with a driver or for someone who hits an 8 iron from 150 yards. With drivers we use the following swingspeed ranges to help determine shaft flex. L flex = 53 - 62 mph A flex = 63 - 76 mph R flex = 77 - 92 mph S flex = 93 - 107 mph X flex = 108 and higher mph

Right now I am using a 3 wood shaft on my taylormade R1 driver. I am 5 foot 4 and seem to be having good luck with it. I would like a shaft a little lighter. I used to have this shaft and really liked it. Can this shaft be cut down to 43.5 or 44?

Asked by: Jimsolheim
If you want to put the 1205w in your driver and cut to final playaing length of 43.5", you can do that with no problem. You would not need to trim the tip of the shaft any since it is going into a driver. Simply install and cut to your playing length from the butt.

Where do I find the tipping instructions for this shaft ?

Asked by: TMAC
If you scroll down to the bottom of the product page you will see a complete specification chart that includes The GolfWorks trim code for your specific shaft. All of the NV shafts have a trim code of W21. There is also a link above the spec box that will take you to the trim chart.

In general, do the Aldila NV shafts play a bit stiffer or softer than other brand shafts?

Asked by: rockybd
For a shaft that is designed to create a low/mid trajectory I would tell you that they test and play true to flex.
