ALDILA Shaft Specifications

Aldila Rip Alpha 6/7 Graphite Wood Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very well behaved! I put this shaft into my Titleist 910-D2 and immediately saw a huge improvement over the stock Diamana. Much lower trajectory when I wanted it with more roll out. Plenty of height and carry when I hit it more on the upswing. Incredibly accurate. Wish I was 20 years younger so I could really take advantage of it! Great shaft.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands Down Best I have used every revolutionary shaft in the last 10 years beginning with the Grafalloy ProLite. This RIP shaft is by far the longest most accurate shaft I have ever played. Currently paired with Titleist 910D2 driver.

Can I reduce the length of Aldila Rip Alpha from the tip (I believe thats called tipping) by one inch. Also, I read that would increase the stiffness slightly. i.e.. a regular flex to something between a regular and stiff.

Asked by: Tom W
Yes you could tip trim this shaft. It has a 3" parallel tip length and it is a good rule of thumb to leave at least a 1.5" parallel tip length for proper shaft installation. With graphite shafts tipping 1" is a full flex change. Half a flex would be 1/2" tip trimming to get in between an R and S flex.

I have a Adila RIP @80. 2.0 xstiff in my Ping G30 fairway. Do you still carry this shaft or if not, what is comparable? Thanks

Asked by: Foe Riehl
We do not have the RIP Alpha in an 80 gram weight shaft. We do have the 70 gram weight RIP Alpha. It would be your closest replacement. We do not stock any 80 gram weight wood shafts these days.

I have an old Taylor Made R9 Super Deep TP. ?My shaft needs to be replaced. ?I had the Aldila RIP shaft in a s flex and it was half inch longer than standard. ?Can you put that combination together for me with the shaft sleeve so it is ready to play?

Asked by: Paul
Yes we can put this combination together for you. If you are ordering on line you will need to place an order for the shaft and adaptor. If we will be installing the grip place the order for the grip as well. At Checkout in the Special Notes box put your instructions for the adaptor installation. Tell us the length, and we would prefer a specific length number instead of half inch over standard. Tell us the which setting on the adaptor you would like the shaft installed to. If we are installing a grip and it will be other then standard size tell us the size you would like.

Can you put a Callaway x hot tip and a tour velvet grip on this shaft? Also trim to 45".

Asked by: nevil
Yes we can install the tip, grip and trim to a 45" finished length. You could call in your order to 1-800-848-8358 or if you order on line you would order the shaft, grip and adaptor and at Checkout in the Special Notes box tell us you would like the adaptor and grip installed and cut to 45". Also tell us which setting on the adaptor you would like the shaft installed to.

What is the shortest length this shaft could be cut down to for installation in a driver? Thanks.

Asked by: Oops
There is not minimum amount you can cut down the shaft. The butt end parallel length should be around 12 inches, so you have to consider what effect cutting a large amount off the butt end will have on the grip size and taper.
