XCaliber Tour SL FWFitted to a TaylorMade Burner Superfast 2.0 3-wood. The stock TM stiff shaft was very light (48g) and I hit the 3-wood further off the tee than most of my playing partners' hit their drivers, but consistency/dispersion was poor and I had trouble getting height off the deck, so I tried the XCaliber Tour SL stiff flex on the recommendation of a playing partner who has a +2 handicap. It is amazing! Still light and long, but much more stable through impact and getting great results off the tee and fairway. I play to a 5 handicap. Definitely worth considering for a lightweight fairway wood.

Would you happen to know what is the CPM of the XCaliber Tour SL Fairway wood shaft in R-Flex and S-Flex?
Asked by: edgeman
I do not have any CPM readings for these shaft in assembled clubs but I do have CPM testing from the raw shafts. The R flex is 280 cpm's and the S flex is 286 cpm's. The S flex does get stiffer in the lower part of the shaft then the R flex.

Could the SL Excalibur SL fairway shaft be used in a driver?
Asked by: fortyninervt
Yes, you can install an XCaliber UL fairway shaft into a driver head. The playing flex might be about 1/2 flex stiffer than advertised since the fairway shaft is pre-trimmed for fairway woods and the weight of the driver head is 5 to 10 grams lighter than a fairway wood head.

I use ?standard length clubs. I got the reg flex shaft to use with a Maltby KE4 ST-F 5wood head. How much do I need to trim off the tip? And what is a standard length for a 5wood ? Thanks for your help.?
Asked by: Rand
We would need to know the shaft model to tell you for sure, but if you got either the MPF Fairway shaft or the Xcaliber Fiarway shaft, which are used often in the KE4 ST-F fairway woods, the tip trim for both would be 1", then trim to final length from the butt. Our standard length for 5 woods using shafts that weigh more than 65 grams is 42".
