Shaft Butt Weight Ports
"A great tool for counterbalancing steel shafted woods, irons and putters. The durable plastic weight port fits into the butt end of a steel shaft and is secured after grip installation. 12 per package. Can be sanded to fit graphite shafts."
Shaft Butt Weight Ports is rated 3.5 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pain in the neck Pain in the neck to work with. But, i found a trick. Heat the plastic until it is soft, then drive it into the shaft. Scrape off the excess plastic with a knife. Will save you tons of time and aggrevation.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Works but time consuming These work well but are time consuming to sand down for graphite shafts. I ended up taking down the corners with a knife and then fine tuning with an electric sander to round them out. After sanding they weigh about 4 gms. Filled to the top it will hold 20 gms of lead powder.

Shaft Butt Weight Ports I understand how to install the port, my question is: How do you secure the tip weight or other weighting media (e.g. tungsten powder) so it does not break loose and rattle?

Asked by: MichaelGolfer
If you are using the tip weights you could secure them with epoxy or with either the tip weights or tungsten powder you could secure them in place by epoxying a cork top of them. The corks for wood shafts would work the best with the Weight Ports.
