CER 8620 OIL SOAKED WEDGE HEAD
CER 8620 OIL SOAKED WEDGE HEAD
The CER 8620 Oil Soaked precision wedges bring a new look and more options to the best selling CER line. These classically styled wedges are investment cast from 8620 carbon steel for excellent feel. The 8620 carbon steel is used because it has similar hardness properties to the carbon steels used in the billet forging process. The CER Oil Soaked wedges are a raw carbon steel with the dark, natural finish of the raw material. The “Oil Soaked” refers to the protective oil that is put on the finish to prevent premature rusting. Once these wedges are ready to go in the bag, the oil should be wiped off. The natural rusting that will occur over time provide the unique look preferred by many better players. - Precision cast 8620 carbon steel offers a forged feel and adjustability at a great price
- Classic wedge styling – narrow top line, high rounded toe, beveled leading edges
- U-Grooves for maximum spin
- Consistent sole width grind provides more playability and utilizes the designed bounced, even when the club face is rolled open
- Raw natural finish appeals to the high level player, and traditionalist
- Oil Soaked feature protects raw finish
- Loft/Bounce options include: 52°/4°, 54°/8°, 56°/12°, 58°/8°, 60°/6°

- Friday, April 18, 2008 Solid choice Reviewed By: Jeremy (St. Paul, Minnesota) I bought a 56* to put together almost as an afterthought because it's so inexpensive. It turns out this is great sand wedge! I hate bunkers, but the soft 8620 steel and heavy-ish 300+ gram head help give a very nice feel. The oil soaked finish is a nice visual touch too. It's staying in my bag.
- Tuesday, April 15, 2008 Fantastic wedge Reviewed By: KLD (Sanford, MI) Very happy with these wedges. I assembled a 54 and 58 degree with steel shafts and the playability is outstanding. These generate as much spin as any wedge I've used (and I've used them all.) I hope the face remains durable, as the initial spin of the new heads were a pleasant surprise for this price. These heads are very traditional and have a nice rounded look to them that I prefer. I like it, but must admit they were even more compact than I expected. Look great in the bag, too. Would recommend to any player.
- Monday, November 05, 2007 Excellent Wedges Reviewed By: GWB (New York, NY) This is a great wedge, and it looks great too. I built a couple sets of Sand and Lob wedges for customers with stepless steel shafts, tip trimmed to 5- and 6-iron flex, respectively, then cut shorter than a PW, in 1/4" increments. The result is magical. The wedges have great touch around the green, and really put the ball right where you point it. The lob wedge has a maximum distance of about 50-55 yards and brings the ball down to a dead stop. I recommend trying a couple of these, and try cutting the shafts with a softer tip: your customers will thank you!
