CER 900 OS IRONS
The CER 900 OS iron club head continues the CER tradition of Ultra Game Improvement, with the added feature of an oversize iron blade profile. At address, the expanded hitting surface of the CER 900 OS iron club head increases confidence, resulting in more relaxed swings and better shots. A deeper undercut cavity with more weighting toward the back positions the center of gravity low and to the rear for higher initial launch angles. The expanded wide sole design (.900”) added even more mass to the sole keeping the c.g. low and allows players to be aggressive through the “hit zone” without the risk of hitting the ball fat. The wide sole design also allowed us to expand the hitting surface without raising the center of gravity. The CER 900 OS gives you the best of both worlds, an expanded hitting surface and a low and rearward center of gravity. With the highest Maltby Playability Factor rating of any oversize iron we have ever designed, the CER 900 OS is one you just have to try.
Highlights:
- Wider .900” sole width, combined with 3° of bounce in the long and
mid irons, is extremely turf friendly.
- Oversized design enlarges hitting surface and increases confidence
at address.
- Deeper undercut cavity moves center of gravity lower and more
rearward for higher launch angles.
- Shorter hosel design allows more mass to be placed in the peri-
meter, increasing the MOI (Moment of Inertia) for more forgiveness
on off-center hits.
- Progressive offsets help square the clubface in the long irons and
improves alignment in the short irons.
- Highest Maltby Playability Factor rating of any
“Oversize” iron we have ever designed.
- Precision cast from double heat treated
431 stainless steel.
- M – Grooves for optimum spin control.
- Available in #4-9, PW, GW, SW.
- Recommended ferrule – 60PI

I built two sets of clubs with these heads. One set for my son has Apollo Phantom shafts. The other set was for myself with Graphite Design G-tech shafts. You hit it off the toe, the ball goes straight. You hit it off the heel, the ball goes straight. You hit it off the center, the ball goes long and straight. If you want to shape your shots don't buy these heads. If your like me and the majority of hackers who play golf, then these need to be in your bag. They are the most forgiving irons I have ever played.

bought the rest

After my first review I decided to buy the wedges to match my iron set. The amount of back spin I can put on the ball with these is sick! Sand wedge to a 60 yard pin at the range, I put it a few feet past the pin and the ball backed up to within 2 feet! These heads make me look a whole lot better than I really am!
My only complaint... The stickers they put on the back of the head don't stay on very well. I've had three come off at the range and I finally peeled the rest off and epoxied them on for good.

took me a minute

It took me a minute to get used to these heads. At first I was hooking and slicing like mad! The heads look a lot different than the old blades I had been playing with so I was having alignment issues. I almost gave up and gave them away but by my second range session I had it figured out and started hitting them well. The more I work with them the more I like them. The CER heads are so forgiving that I am able to really pour on the heat. With my old irons I was hitting my 7i about 130, with these I can get on it enough to put it out almost 170! (that is about one in twenty though...)
My only complaint and it isn't really a complaint is that they feel a lot heavier than what I'm used to. Some people might not like that but for me it actually helped! I can feel more where the head is on my back swing and feel a lot more stable through the impact zone.
I guess I would say that if you are new to golf or looking for something more forgiving that won't break the bank, go get a cheap used set with good shafts and swap these heads on. It's made a huge improvement in my distance and accuracy!
