I have an R11 sand wedge and a wedge with graphite shafts I want to install kbs 90 shafts stiff. do I need to buy 355 or 370 tip shafts?

Asked by: golfpro
R11 irons use the .370" parallel tip shaft. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=FS0024

Assuming my KBS Tour shaft fit doesn't work out to my playing length (see my post yesterday), what would you recommend as a good alternative. I'm playing the TT Score LT in regular that are a bit too soft for me. I need a stiffer flex and a mid traj.

Asked by: Mr C
There is a big difference between the stiffness (both actual and feel) in the Score shafts and the KBS Tour shafts. I would suggest a TT Dynamic Gold R flex if you want to stay with a heavier shaft and the TT XP105 if you would like to go to lighter shaft.

I am getting a set of 5-Gap KBS .355 pulled from Taylormade Rocketbladez Tour standard length which is 37.75" 5 iron which is what my current 5-Gap TE Forged are set to. Will I be able to put these shafts in the TE Forged and still play to the same length

Asked by: Mr C
Not knowing specifically the hosel measurements from the Rocketbladez Tour irons and educated guess tells me you will be approximately 1/4" shorter with these shafts installed in the TE Forged irons. Our TE forged irons have a 1" bottom of bore to ground line measurement and normally a Tour Blade type of iron from Taylor Made will have a 1 1/4" bottom of bore to ground line measurement. With a 1" bottom of bore to ground line measurement if I wanted a 37.75" #5 iron the raw shaft length would be 36.75" to equal 37.75" finished length. With a 1 1/4" bottom of bore to ground line measurement to have a 37.75" #5 iron the shaft would measure 36.5". So installing the 36.5" raw length 5 iron shaft into the TE forged at 1" bottom of bore to ground line would make a finished club length of 37.5" or 1/4" shorter.

how far below the grip are the KBS shaft bands placed ?

Asked by: hulk
Generally, shaft labels are placed between the first full steps visible coming out of the grip, or approximately 2 inches below the grip.

Hi, Current set: I20's, KBS Tour R, hard stepped once (closer to R+). Bought DBM irons 4-PW, if I pull the heads can I install DBM's without modification (changed tip/trim) for same feel? ?Thanks. Jay Thill?

Asked by: BirdieSearcher
They would stay the same assuming the finished lengths and swingweights stay the same. I do not have the bottom of bore to ground line measurement from the 1-20 but an educated guess puts it in the 1" range which is the same as the DBM. What this means is that with a 1" bottom of bore to ground line measurement if we are assembling a 5 iron to 38" the shaft would actually be cut to 37" and when it is installed the finished club length would be 38". This is always an important measurement to know when moving a shaft from one club to another. Sorry for not having the Ping measurement but they have generally been in the 1" range.
