100% agree with the above poster
Reviewed By: Mike Borbely (Chicago, IL)
I 100% agree with the comments by Mike Williford as above. I was fit for the X-stiff (6 iron swing speed 95-98mph with ball speed 130/driver SS 110-118, .25 inch short, 2degrees flat) and have played x100 and PX6.5. I think he is right on the money saying that they require attention and commitment- I feel these play stiffer than x100 and PX6.5 and as far as the 5%/5%/5%, I would definitely agree with the 5% less spin (this was the reason I went with the Ctaper)- for me drop and stop- no sucking back- 3-4-5 iron maybe 5 to 8 feet of roll out. As for the 5% lower trajectory and 5% more distance- not so much- but this is for ME and may not apply to you. I have them in 712/AP2 and I had to de-loft (1-1.5 degrees)my 6-PW to get back to my normal distances and lower the ball flight- I was losing distance when the ball ballooned farther down range and fell straight out of the sky- granted, Titleist has weaker lofts than say Mizuno.... As a test I ordered a S+ shaft and put it in a 712/ap2 6 iron head and it has made a significant difference- I would now agree with the 5% less spin and 5% distance gains but still disagree with the 5% lower trajectory- equal to if not a little higher than X100- Again, this is for me and my swing and may not apply to you and your swing. I would also agree that you should check your ego when testing these shafts- please try at least one flex down. I am in the process of changing from 130gram x-stiff to the 125gram stiff+ for the same reason Mike stated above- sometimes I just want to go out and have a good time and not concentrate so much. With the S+ I can have fun and score well. Good luck!

Get Fit
Reviewed By: Mike Williford (Scottsdale, Arizona)
I started with the new KBS C-Taper shafts in the stiff + and was so excited to play these amazing new shafts that made such claims as the 5% gain distance, 5% lower traq. and 5% less spin. I am currently a 4.7 handicap that plays at least twice a week here in North Scottsdale. Driver speed 105 good for around 275-280 yards. Iron play is pretty consistent on most days. I have played x-100's, Px 5.5 and Px 6.0, and KBS tour stiff over the last couple of years. What I found is that these play stiffer than you think they will. I used the KBS fitting system on their website and KBS suggested I use the stiff +. So about $250.00 later I had some in my Miura CB501's. They require a lot of attention to hit well, you can't just swing away and have fun. If I put a great swing on the shot the shaft performed as advertised, but anything less than perfect had adverse affects on the outcome. After several rounds I conceded defeat and went back to my KBS tour stiffs, but it still wasn't what I wanted. One day I stopped by Cool Clubs and talked to one of their fitters and started swinging shafts for them and now have the KBS C-tapers in regular + and all is good with the world. I now have a shaft that does not require 100% of my focus on every shot and my accuracy and distance greatly improved. My point is check your ego at the door and get fit for these shafts or at the very least find a demo day and swing these great shafts before you drop alot of money playing the hope and see game. Golf is supposed to be fun, and properly fit these will keep your game on track and your money in your pocket when the round is over. Don't be afraid to drop a stiffness or two for these shafts. After all it's the score that matters not the sticker on the shaft, your friends will be more impressed by hitting past them or posting that great score than they will be that stiff + sticker. To summarize these are Kim Braley's best shaft yet, they are gamers when pro
