Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lighten Up I've installed these grips on most of my Drivers and Fairway Woods. The swing weight significantly changes promoting higher club head speed, you will notice the difference!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tour Velvet feel - Half the weight I use these grips when targeting a specific swing weight. They provide all of the Tour Velvet feel, but only weigh 25 grams.

Looking to cut my G15 Driver (TFC 149D shaft w/ Ping 703 +1/32 grip) down from standard 45.75" to 44.5". My research and talks w/ golf buddies, I'm thinking the swing weight will drop 6 - 8 points. Will these grips get me back to D3? If not, which will?

Asked by: ChrisC
Shortening the club length by 1.25" will lighten the swingweight by approximately 8 swingweight points. Assuming your current installed grip weights 50 grams installing the Golf Pride Tour 25 will give you back just over 6 swingweights. 4 grams of grip weight equals 1 swingweight. Another issue here is shaft flex. When you shorten the club 1.25" and lighten it by 8 swingweight the shaft gets stiffer. 1 swingweight is equal to 1 cpm in a frequency machine used to measure shaft stiffness. Approximately 10 cpm's is a change of flex. So this shaft will now play almost a full flex stiffer then it did before. To get the shaft flex back to where it was before you would need to add 16 grams of weight to the clubhead. Shaft flex is controlled by length of shaft, either long or short, and shorter is stiffer and clubhead weight. You cannot change the shaft flex with a grip. If you try this club with the lighter grip and it works, great. But if it does not work then I would suggest adding back at least some of the weight.

Asked by: jmbuilt
with a 25 grams grip, you raise your swingweight by 3 grams, with 6 layers of building tape it will become pretty close to the original swingweight

?I want grip all weather condition tacki and shock absorption for my iron this good?or better dri tac wrap lite or something else?thanks

Asked by: leonard
The Dri Tac Lite would be better for shock absorption then the Golf Pride Tour 25. In a very light weight grip the Dri Tac Lite is going to be your best option for shock absorption.
