Know your roll
The typical putter off the rack has 4 degrees of loft. The reason for this is that a ball will settle down on the surface of the green creating a slight depression. Striking a golf ball with a putter while it is resting in this depression causes a ball to come off the face as a low chip with a slight backward rotation. The ball then skips and skids until friction with the grass causes the ball to begin a forward rotation. Eventually with continued skidding the rotation of the golf ball starts to match its forward motion. This is known as true roll. For a 20 foot putt this process can take 60”. With the ideal launch and or putter loft angle at impact the ball can start rolling within the first 20” dramatically improving distance and accuracy.
With the RollBoard you can dial in the putters launch angle at impact by quickly identifying the need to reduce or add loft to your putter to get the right amount of lift on the golf ball while minimizing skipping and skidding. Getting the golf ball rolling is critical to maximizing distance control and accuracy. There is no quicker and more accurate way to correctly dial in a putter to the golfers natural stroke.
The RollBoard is a velvet covered board that measures 37” long by 5” wide. The velvet has a directional nap that when brushed in the direction of the start position will instantly show the roll characteristics of a golf ball as it comes off the face of your customer’s putter. No need for expensive high-speed cameras and viewing monitors. No time consuming setup and playback. The RollBoard instantly and accurately displays how the ball performs after impact…the amount of launch, and the precise moment when forward rotation matches the forward motion to create true roll.
