What's the correct graphite shaft extension for Kuro Kage MR0031 3B2M Butt Diameter 0.614?

Asked by: Anonymous
You want to order extension GW4000 and use the Purple coded extension which measures .545". I checked this extension and it fits well.

I have an Aldila Tour Green 85 Hybrid Stiff shaft that has been butt cut one half inch too short. I believe the butt OD is 0.625 inches but don't know the inner diameter. What size graphite extender do I need? Many Thanks.

The hard part about an extension for this shaft is that the butt end does not stay parallel for very long and then the shaft starts to taper and will taper both on the outside and inside. You may have to get a little creative with an extension for this shaft. I sized a few extensions right at the butt end and the GSE and wooden extension fit just a shade loose which could be good for your shaft which has been butt 1" already. Actually the wooden extension is probably your best bet because the post could be sanded to fit the inside diameter and any inside taper the shaft might have.

what is the i.d. on your graphite shaft extensions? I have several of them in my stock but they seem awfully loose. My 1996 Callaway Big Bertha Irons have an o.d. of .607" and .500 i.d. Also will your standard shafting epoxy work both heads and exten

Asked by: Bigfoot
I suggest that you use the "gold" version of our Premium Shaft Extensions. These have an I.D. of .500". Yes, you can use standard shafting epoxy to install extensions. Please be careful not to use too much expoxy. You just want to lightly "butter" the extension. Standard shafting epoxy cures harder than our Extension Adhesive. A build up of standard shafting epoxy can break loose and cause rattles.

Will these fit in an Odyssey white hot pro shaft?

Asked by: JG21
The stock Odyssey shaft would be a steel shaft you will want a steel extension. Most of the Odyssey putter use a .580" butt diameter shaft so you would want the S58 shaft extension.

The difference with the graphite shaft extensions is the post size that goes into the shaft. Because graphite shafts have many different shaft weights this effects the wall thickness and the inside diameter of the shaft. A heavier graphite shaft will have thicker walls and need a graphite shaft extension with a smaller post diameter. A very light weight graphite shaft will have thinner walls and need a graphite shaft extension with a bigger post size to fit properly. When extending a graphite shaft you need to know the inside diameter measurement at the top end of the shaft so that you can order the correct size extension.
