I just purchased a used set of 2006 Callaway Big Bertha irons with a 75g amateur shaft. ?When they arrived they seemed short and when I measured they are 1/2 to 3/4 inches short. ?What should I use?

Asked by: searcher
With 75 gram weight shaft it is likely the GSE extension should work the best.

The post or insert on this GSE shaft extension measures .480" and it is the smallest size that we have.

I want to add 1/2" to set of mizuno jpx ez irons, which have fujikura orochi graphite shafts. what do you recommend(I need to do this myself) for this. Also our golf pro said he couldn't get grips off. The're -golf pride m-31. What do I need to do this.

Asked by: DonD
From looking at the shaft specifications on Mizuno's web site which extension you need will probably depend on which shaft flex you have. You can see the butt diameter's listed at this link. If you have the A or R flex you will probably need the USGE extension because of the larger butt diameters at .610" or .615". We do not have measurements for the inside diameter for Mizuno's graphite shafts to know for sure but my educated guess tells me the USGE should be what you will need. Mizuno's stock grips are usually Golf Pride and in looking at the picture of the M-31 it looks like the Golf Pride Tour Velvet. For the larger butt diameter shaft they would likely use the .600" core size and they use round grips.

Want to extend by 1/2" Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons. Which shaft extender do you recommend?

Asked by: cdb007
Based on the weight of the stock graphite shaft Taylor Made used in the Burner 2.0 I would think the GSE extension would work. We do not have any inside measurements from the Taylor Made shafts to know for sure which extension would fit best.

Will this work on steel shafts

Asked by: Victor
It is recommended that steel extensions be used for steel. The composite extensions can be used on steel putter shafts, but are not recommended for use with steel iron or wood shafts.

What is the best graphite extender for a 65 gram weight .580 shaft. And could I use the steel extenders as well.

Asked by: Curt
First, you can not use steel extensions in graphite. The inside diameter of the shaft your extending is the key, so without knowing that measurement, it is difficult to say which graphite shaft extension would be the best fit, the GSE, or the UGSE. The GW1047 is a universal extension that might be a good choice since the exact dimension is not known. Or, you could get both the GSE and the UGSE just to have options.
