The GolfWorks 1" x 30" Belt Sander

The GolfWorks Belt Sander uses popular 1" x 30" belts, ideal for the small volume shop or hobbyist that can’t justify the 1" x 42" machines costing hundreds more. This Belt Sander is perfect for abrading steel shaft tips and removing polyurethane coating from graphite shaft tips before reshafting heads. Features a tilting work table that makes it easy to set the angle for grinding off through-bore shaft tips perfectly every time. Also features a dust collection outlet for connection to a dust control vacuum system — a big plus considering the dust shaft prep work creates! 1/4 hp, 2 amp, 110 VAC, 60 Hz motor runs at 3,450 rpm. Includes one belt. Extra belts available as noted at left.

Please Note: Additional shipping charges required due to weight.

The GolfWorks 1" x 30" Belt Sander is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Handy tool I used to use a Dremel to prep shaft tips and that worked okay. I got a GolfWorks 1x30 belt sander because I thought it would be quicker and more efficient. It was both. It has speeded up my shaft prep process and made it more tollerable (my least favorite part of the clubmaking process). I recommend this tool for the more serious amateur club maker. NOTE: I found that by placing a "dustbuster" or my wet or dry vaccuum's hose next to the work area of my belt sander, I was able to control and minimize the dust created by the shaft preparation process.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not good for ferrules Excellent for steel shaft prepping. But take care in using this for ferrules. Paired with a linen belt, the machine tends to shift the belt from side to side. Very hard to control this movement. Also the height of the belt makes it hard to turn the head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very useful One of the most used tools in my shop. Besides Golf Clubs, I use the sander, when building custom fishing rods, fishing reels, guns, reloads and computers.

is there a 400 grit belt available and or polishing belt for this model of sander?

Asked by: Philip
We only sell sanding belts for this machine. We do sell a Micro Grit Belt for sanding the tips of graphite shafts which would be in that 400 grit range but we sell nothing for polishing. You might try searching for a wood working site on line to see what they might have.

Where can I go to order repair parts for the belt sander. Both of the pulleys have cracked and need to be replaced to install new belts. I have the pulleys out I just need the plastic cap that goes around the bearing assembly. Please advise, thanks.

Asked by: Terry McClain
It looks like the Harbor Freight sander which is now sold by Grizzly industries. They have all replacement parts for these machines.
