MALTBY GLIDER S HYBRID HEADS
MALTBY GLIDER S HYBRID HEADSHow do you make the Glider irons even more playable? Make a matching Hybrid, the Glider S Hybrid. Designed with the same principles used in the Glider series of irons, these hybrids have an extremely low and rearward center of gravity, aiding in getting the ball launched to the optimum trajectory. The sole design is flatter front to back than most hybrid designs, which helps keep the cg low and allows the club to sit very square in the address position. The shallow concave crown moves more weight to the perimeter for more forgiveness on off-center hits. By replacing the 3 and 4 irons of any set with the Glider S hybrids, you will experience longer, straighter and higher shots from those intimidating long iron game distances. Highlights:

Reviewed By: Alex (Niagara Falls, Ontario) I purchased the Maltby Glider S 20* head and shafted it with an FST Pro 115 shaft tipped to a stiff flex. The head does perform as it does launch the ball high and yes it goes. From a performance level I give it a 5 as it's the first and only hybrid to this point that I've played where I actually liked the performance and yes I was comfortable. For example..early in the year I played a very wet course (most are up here April 5th)and I had a shot sitting down in a wet lie from 230 on a par 5...I didn't hit the green but I got it out of that lie and hit it 215...easy par (missed birdie...lip out) However, I gave it a 4 as I docked points for sound. Another reviewer said that the sound was "worth the price of admission". Personally I didn't like it, and sound is very important to me. To me it had a "toink" sound that I just cannot adjust to. I plan on purchasing an MFH as my intuition told/tells me that it may be more up my alley. - Thursday, April 24, 2008long & straight Reviewed By: Don (Bayside, NY) I bought the 24 degree head, matched it up with MPF shaft, adjust the swing weight to a D2 and watch the ball fly off the club face effortlessly...long and straight!! The sound it make is worth the price of admission. Read More Reviews |
