MALTBY MPC FORGED IRON HEADS

From the leader in Forged Iron design, the Maltby MPC Forged Irons combine the look and feel of a true players blade profile with a weight distribution “flow” that optimizes the mass and dimensional characteristics of each iron in the set. The progressive weighting moves the weight in two ways, on the back flange and in the undercut, to provide stability in the long irons and a solid feel throughout the set. The MPC irons are form forged from 8620 carbon steel, giving them the true carbon steel soft feel many players prefer. Everything about the design of the Maltby MPC iron set was geared towards making it the most forgiving, most solid and most stable set of carbon steel, blade profile irons available.

Highlights:

  • Rated “Super Game Improvement” in Maltby Playability Factor.
  • Form Forged from 8620 Carbon Steel for great feel and adjustability.
  • Progressive “Flow” weighting positions weight in the optimum position in each head.
  • Undercut cavity design and slightly wider sole positions center of gravity lower and more rearward, improving playability
  • Slight progressive off-set
  • CNC milled U – Grooves
  • Beveled leading and trailing edges will not snag the turf
  • Classic blade profile appeals to tradionalists
  • Recommended ferrule – 74PI

Got the PW
Reviewed By: Watch (Colorado Springs, CO)
I got the PW. You know, when practicing, I hit a draw with that thing 140 yards. And when playing, I have to be careful not to knock a pitch through the green. It blows my mind how far I can hit the ball with that wedge. I just with I had used this model to build my entire set of irons.

The knock down rules!
Reviewed By: Watch (Colorado Springs, Colorado)
I got this iron in the GW, 5 deg. bounce, because I need the U grooves in my wedges to spin the ball on short shots from 100 yards in. Today I played in near-gale-force wind when it was very difficult to even hit a green in regulation. I owe a number of my pars to my MPC GW, which I used to "scramble" for those pars. It just so happened that I practiced knock down shots with my new GW on the pitching range prior to my round. It was just what the doctor ordered. Particulars: I assembled the MPC GW with a Maltby Score True Temper flightless shaft with Sensicore. I tip trimmed it to #8 iron flex (for feel) and swing weighted it D3 (for distance, if I need it). I killed with that thing today, and in the next pay cycle, I plan on ordering the MPC pitching wedge. I would say that based on the quality of the GW, this is something that I am surprised no one has writen a review on. Check them out. It might be worth it.
