The Maltby Tricept C2 Cavity Iron club heads were designed with the same principles of progressive weighting as the Tricept F1 Forged Irons to locate the mass of the head in the optimal position for each club number in the set, but in an undercut cavity design. The undercut cavity design provides the means to place more weight in the perimeter, improving MOI. The progressive weighting is evident inside the cavity muscle and the back edge, with more mass being distributed towards the toe on the long irons and moving to a more neutral position in the mid to short irons. This makes the long irons extremely forgiving and improves the feel, even on off center hits. A wider sole width positions the actual vertical center of gravity lower and more rearward, making the Tricept C2 irons extremely easy to get airborne. The wider sole of the Maltby Tricept C2 irons is also very turf friendly, minimizing the tendency to hit fat shots. The Tricept C2 irons feature a slight progressive offset, with more offset in the long irons and less in the short irons, further enhancing the stability and playability in the long irons and giving the short irons a more traditional look at address. Investment cast from double heat treated 17-4 stainless steel with CNC milled grooves, the Tricept C2 irons have a forged like feel and can be adjusted easily for custom loft and lie angles.
