Maltby Tricept BM3 Fairway Wood Views

The Maltby Tricept BM3 Fairway Woods might possibly be the most complex and high-tech fairway wood designs ever developed. Designed with MAT (Multiple Adjustment Technology) allowing for customization of weight and face angle along with a four piece Precision Forged multi-material manufacturing process, the BM3 Fairway Woods are built for pure distance. The super thin (1.6mm) VFT Super Maraging 455 Cup Face design, Super Maraging 455 1.5mm thick crown and ultra high strength Chromoly body produce CT ratings exceeding most 460cc driver heads and significantly higher CT ratings than any other metal fairway wood we have tested.

The ultra thin Maraging 455 crown allows more weight to be distributed low and rearward in the sole for optimum performance. Single screw weight system allows for head weight customization for a variety of playing lengths and shaft weights.

Each Tricept BM3 fairway wood head comes with two different runners (Square and 2 Closed) for face angle customization. The BM3 runners are manufactured from 431 Stainless Steel and at 10 grams each, also aid in lowering the center gravity further enhancing performance. Typical adjustable golf clubs use an 8 to 10 gram hosel sleeve to adjust face angle which removes valuable head weight from the sole of the fairway wood which ultimately has a negative effect on playability.

  • 4 piece Precision Forged construction with VFT (Variable Face Technology) Cup Face design.

  • CT (COR) value at USGA limit intended for driver heads.
  • Each head comes with 2 431 Stainless Steel face angle adjustment runners Square and 2 closed.
  • Black PVD finish with mirror polished runner.
  • Weight adjustable using the KE4 Screw Weight System Will accept 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 and 14 gram screw weights.

  • Maltby Tricept BM3 Fairway Club head Specifications

Maltby Tricept BM3 Fairway Woods is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hot Face This head has a hot face and I can get very good distance with it. I've replaced the hybrids in my bag and gone back to a five wood because I just hit a five wood more consistently I'm not real crazy about the runner technology. It seems to dig in on occassion. I'd like to see a model without the runner.

what are grooves on irons for?

    Asked by: stejust
Grooves are on irons to channel away material that can get in between the clubface and the ball at impact. By channeling away the material, there will be less of a negative affect on the spin produced.

Is the bm3 your longest fairway 3?

    Asked by: Crax
We did design the BM3 to be the longest fairway we had developed. Definitley had a hot face. We also made it 209 grams in weight, which is lighter than most 3 woods, so it could be built to the longer playing lengths (43"-43 1/2"), which was popular a few years ago. The length of the club, designed to be used with a lighter weight shaft, was the main factor that made it produce longer distances compared to more traditional fairway woods. Our currentl ST-F series is also designed lighter (205 grams) for the same purpose. We have seen very good results with it also.

Can the Tricept's lie angle be adjusted?

    Asked by: clarinetman
It would be very difficult to adjust the lie of the BM3 fairway woods. Not recommended.
