Maltby KE4 S Iron Clubhead Specifications

Maltby KE4 S Iron Heads is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Solid Performance Bought a 7 iron head some time back. Have tried it with several steel and graphite shafts. With a UST IRN graphite shaft this club is very easy to hit and long. It has a nice medium ball flight. Good off center hit performance. A high quality club for sure. This head is more compact than other super game improvement heads out there, and the sole width is in the medium range. If you want a giant head or a very wide sole look elsewhere. Despite being more compact than some of those SGI or GI shovels, I find it just as easy to hit. I have played some TaylorMade RBZ irons over the last year, and this head performs as well or better than the TaylorMades.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ONE OF THE BEST THEY HAVE EVER DESIGNED I PUT TOGETHER A SET 6--GW OF THESE SEVERAL MONTHS AGO AND HAVE FOUND THEM TO BE THE BEST OF THE KE 4 LOT. COMPLETE ADJUSTABILITY WITH WEIGHTS. I BOUGHT A FEW EXTRA WEIGHTS AND MADE ALL THE HEADS MATCH TO A GREAT MOI SET. I LOVE THE FACT THA MALTBY RATES THE HEADS WITH A PLAYABILITY FACTOR AND USE THAT WHEN PICKING A HEAD TO TEST. TRIED DIFFERENT SHAFTS AND FINALLY GOT A GOOD MATCH FOR ME. I PLAY GOLF EVERY DAY.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet! I have used many of the Maltby iron products the last several years and I was quite suprised with the feel of these irons. When struck dead center the feel is SWEET! When struck off center a little they are still solid, bit the feedback is enough to let you know you missed the shot. I assembled them with the axe tour x 95g iron shaft in a stiff flex and golf pride cp 2 pro grip. After adjusting to the (modern) jacked up lofts, I have hit some of the best iron shots I have hit in years. Make no mistake these irons are long, accurate and easy to hit in addition to an ALMOST forged feel. The appearance is not clunky at all at and honestly very eye appealing in the bag. Do not be afraid to give these a try!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My first custom clubs I recently retired and promised myself a set of proper tools. Chose these after hitting a test club. These feel great...straight and long. Anxious to see if the clubs and more practice change my game dramatically.

What would the cost be for an assembled KE4 S pitching wedge and gap wedge using a senior flex graphite shaft and a tour wrap style grip?

Asked by: Ed Wozniak
It would be the cost of the clubheads, which is $21.99 each. The cost of the graphite shaft, which ever shaft you might use. We have been using the Mitsubishi Kuro Kage Black Iron shaft (MR0033) which are $24.99 each. The Golf Pride Tour Wrap 2G grips (GP0045) standard size grips are $5.09 each. There is a $10.00 assembly charge for each club. Approximately $124.14 assembled with these components plus shipping.

2 months ago "pipengr' queried about Maltby MPF Graphite iron shafts, trying to achieve a D8 swing weight with KE4S heads. The answer was that the heaviest weights that would fit were 8g, but the catalog says you can go to 14g weights. Which is correct?

Asked by: elmo
You can add 14 grams with the KE4S irons. That was actually my mistake. With our older KE4 irons 8 grams in each weight port was the highest we could go but with the KE4S and newer weights you can put up to 14 grams weights in each weight port.

The KE4S 5 iron is listed at 252 grams. ?is this the weight with two 6 gram weights installed? ?I am fixing to make a set for a 12 year old, and want to have a good handle on the swing weight and total weight.

Asked by: Elmo
The KE4S irons come with two 4 gram weights installed, not 6 grams. The 252 grams (+/-3) represents the weight of the 5 iron with the two 4 gram weights installed.

How deep do you suggest I sink the Score shaft in the hosel?

Asked by: Troup
After properly ttip trimming the shaft for the flex you want, the shaft should always be installed to the bottom of the hosel.
