Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Shaft Specifications

Mitsubishi Rayon Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen Iron Shafts is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price I bought this shaft to replace one that broke when I hit a hidden tree root. The price was right and it shipped very quickly. Due to some medical issues, I haven't been able to play since I repaired the club, but I have no doubt it will perform as well as the OEM shaft that broke.

need .355 for titleist ap2 4 iron?

Asked by: brad
The Titleist AP2 irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. The Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen Iron shaft is only available in a .370" parallel tip version. If your Titleist irons came stock with this shaft it was likely made especially for Titleist with a .355" taper tip and you would have to send the club back to Titleist to be reshafted.

I have a set of Callaway XR 2015 irons "R". I hit my 7 iron 140 average. My old set 7iron 150. I would like to change my shafts. What would be the best shaft to replace? I hit a high ball. AGE 74.

Asked by: Rod
In making recommendations it would help to know what shaft is in your Callaway XR irons and even what shafts were in your previous set of irons. If you are switching from a steel to graphite shaft the Kuro Kage could work well. It could also help bring your high ball flight down a little bit. Another iron shaft that could work would be the Xcaliber Tour SL graphite (AS0031). It is a little lighter weight then the Kuro Kage but would should produce a similar ball flight. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=AS0031

I'm looking for a more forgiving iron shaft than my current DG SL X-100 shaft. ?Would you recommend this shaft and in 60 or 70? ?A

Asked by: JCWatts
If you swing temp is a little faster or quicker then the 70 would be a better choice. You still want the weight of the club to be just heavy enough to help you maintain pace and timing of your swing. If it gets to light you will have to time and pace the club by yourself and you will not be as consistent. This is a very good shaft. What I would always do and recommend would be to first get 1 or 2 shafts and try them before getting the whole set.

I have a set of Ping Rapture irons that I would like to reshaft, based on a fitting with these shafts. ?I can't find the shaft size on Pings website. ?Can you advise?

Asked by: weeksmo
Ping Rapture irons and all Ping irons use a .355" taper tip shaft. The Kuro Kage Black 2nd Gen Iron shafts are only available in a .370" parallel tip. To be able to install these into the Rapture irons you would have to ream or rebore the hosels to accept the .370" tip size shaft. For future reference you can find the tip shaft sizes at these links on our web site. http://www.golfworks.com/article.asp_Q_ai_E_376 http://www.golfworks.com/images/art/Ping.pdf

The Muira PP 9003 irons use a .355" taper tip iron shaft. The Mitsubishi Kura Kage Black 2nd Gen Irons are only available in a .370" parallel tip and they will not fit the Muira heads. You would have to have the Muira irons reamed or rebored to accept these shafts.
