Trimming Instructions

Project X Rifle Taper Tip Iron Shafts is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 4.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Project X Rifle Flighted 6.0 Changed from Dynamic Gold S300 to the 6.0 Rifle Flighted. Good quality shafts, stiffer than my DG S300's. Spined them and there were some shafts with a mild spine and some with a more prominent spine. Overall a good shaft, haven't played them long enough to have a feel regarding the trajectory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Project X Rifle Shaft 5.0 My only complaint is that the golf works didn't offer the 4.0 or the 4.5 shaft. My opinion is that unless you are a low handicap player and strong the 5.0 version is too strong of a shaft for most of us...! Would I recommend this product? Yes but the correct shaft number for the average player.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick & Efficient Needed a 5 iron shaft ASAP - ordered on a Sunday afternoon, received it on Wednesday and in my bag for a tournament on Thursday. Fast shipping and very simple to order. will come here again to order any shafts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shafts on the market. You can really feel the shaft release at impact. Have them in woods irons wedges. 6.0 stiff.

I have a new Callaway xr 2 hot 9 iron head and need to match a quality shaft. ?I hit my seven iron 150 yards. ?Play with stiff shafts or regular. ?I believe Callaway uses Project X but don't know the specific shaft to purchase? ?New 2015 head.

Asked by: Clayobx
The stock steel irons shaft in the XR 2 Hot irons was the Speed Step 85 Steel which was 85 grams. Callaway used the Project X Flighted 95 steel shaft in the XR 2 Hot Pro irons. The True Temper Score LT is a heavier shaft but a very good Callaway replacement shaft in it's playing characteristics. http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp?pn=TT0100 The Project X Flighted 95 steel shaft is no longer being manufactured.

What is the difference between a .355 Project X shaft and a .377 shaft? ?

Asked by: grant1950
The .370" tip would be just a shade stiffer at the very tip because of the increase in diameter. That would really be the only change with this shaft and it is a very minor change.

what are the characteristic of 5.0 shaft iron 39 inches long?/3iron Technology proper swing weight ? or head weight should be what? to reach D3 swing weight?

Asked by: Richard Crawford
My calculations tell me you would need the 3 iron clubhead weight to be 249 grams to achieve a D3 swingweight at 39" assuming a standard 50 gram weight grip.

Does the shaft come prepped and ready to be installed? ?Its for a Mizuno 825 pro 5-iron

Asked by: golfshop
The shafts do not come prepped. Thee is no tip trimming required since they are taper tip, but the tip willneed to be prepped (tip sanding for better adhesion) and after installation, you willneed to trim from the butt to your final playing length. The cost of tip prepping is $2.95 per shaft.

I have Mizuno MP60 wanting to go with the Recoil 95, which ferrule would I need to work best with these heads? Would I need to add any weight with the shaft being standard length? Trying to achieve a D0 swingweight. If so which weight?

Asked by: Colonel B
We have a demo 7 iron in our school assembled with the Recoil 680 F4 (S flex) at 37.5" with a 50 gram grip and head weight of 268 grams that has a D1 swingweight. 37.5" would be 1/2" longer then most steel shafted 7 irons so to maintain standard length you may need to add some weight to come out at D0.
