The GolfWorks Steel Shaft Extensions can be used to extend the finished playing length of any steel shafted club. These 12" long steel butt extensions feature an 8 1/2" parallel mid sections that can be cut in the middle to create two 4 1/4" extensions. Each section has a tapered end to perfectly fit inside the shaft being extended. Each extension has a 1 5/8" shaft insertions depth and is chrome plated to prevent rusting.

Steel Shaft Butt Extensions is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sweet Add-On 4 Big Man.. Being a 6'3" guy with "monkey" arms. These cut to 1" extension brought my new/used irons to my old irons standard. No more slicing...sweet. Note one extension does 2 irons.

What is the average diameter in the butt of the club??

Asked by: Golfer_11
With the variety of shafts today, there really is no "average" outside, or inside diameter. Many shafts today do have outside butt diamters of around .600, but still, there are quite a few others that are larger and few that are smaller. The inside diameters will usually fall in a range from .480 to .535. Our S60 steel extensions will fit many steel shafts, and we have three other size options in the steel extension (S56, S58, S62). These should never be used for extending graphite. We have the GSE (.535 inside stem dimension) and USGE (.480 iside stem dimension) extensions for graphite. We also have a new graphite extension system with multiple size options (GW4000). You can view these on The Golfworks website by entering GW4000 in the search box on the home page.

Will this fit the Aerotech i95? On your catalog the butt size of Aerotech is .602.

Asked by: Jhet
The Aerotech i95 is a graphite shaft, so you do not want to use a steel shaft extension like the S60. The inside diamter of that shaft is approximately .498 - .500. We have a new extension system, the GW4000 (you can view on and there are options for .495 and .500. You can either go with the .495 and may have to build it up slightly, or go with the .500 and sand it down slightly. Probably the .500 and sanding down slightly if necessary would be the way to go. You would order the GW4000 in the gold color code. That is the .500.

What do you recommend to extend a Nippon 950 shaft that has a .610 butt diameter? ?I'm looking to extend them 1/2".?

Asked by: Jrwalk2
For these odd steel shaft sizes the Universal Extensions work the best. It shows backordered at the moment but they are here. They just came in and will be on the shelf shortly. The S60 would be a loose fit and we do not recommend it into a .610" butt diameter.

Can i to insert a butt extension ?560 into ?600 because it cut in the past about shaft extension.. ?580 is just little bit I need a lot of glue around the butt or paper... Tell me a good idea for

Asked by: leonard
For a .600" butt diameter steel shaft you want to use the S60 steel butt extension. We would not recommend using any other size as they will not fit correctly.

How long are the extensions? I want to extend my 34 inch outt to 38 inch. It is a scotty cameron newport 2.6 what i belive is a .580 butt. Extending a putter 4 inch should not be an issua, am i correct?

Asked by: Javman
The extensions are 12" in total length with a parallel mid section or extension length of 8 1/2". It is ok to extend a putter by 4" using these extensions. I would recommend using epoxy to secure the extension in place.
