Will this tool cut existing grooves on a Mizuno forged iron back to (near) new condition? Or would the "Golfworks Regrooving Tool" be the better option?

Asked by: JustinGolf313
The SRT groove tool is for cutting V grooves only. With your Mizuno irons The GolfWorks Regrooving Tool would be the one that you want. It has the modern groove shapes. Keep in mind with forged irons that are chrome plated when you cut grooves you will cut through chrome plating and the clubs could rust unless the plating is already worn off.

Hi I need to re grove my clubs is this tool for that??

Asked by: Many
The SRT will not "re-groove" your irons, but it can clean them up and smooth out slight imperfections that may exist.

I have Maltby forged heads that are five yrs old. Will this tool damage the hitting surface at all?

Asked by: laxcoach114
It will cut through the chrome plating and the faces will rust. This tool is for V shaped grooves only. For the modern boxed or square grooves you would want the either the GW0109 for grooves 2010 or later or GW1111 for grooves prior to 2010. They will still cut through the chrome plating.
